I saw an epic fight in terrible conditions, I saw a great suspense in the last 20 minutes, I saw one of the best individual tries ever scored against the All Blacks. I also saw two teams who really played with their guts, without one really taking a psychological advantage, ...[/b]
All I see is your avatar. Ahhhhhhhh exit page immediately!

This game was crap, crap, crap all the way: players, ref, weather, stadium, atmosphere... Nothing whatsoever to be remembered![/b]

We probably didn't watch the same game. I saw an epic fight in terrible conditions, I saw a great suspense in the last 20 minutes, I saw one of the best individual tries ever scored against the All Blacks. The ref was really crap though, not biased, just crap.

elgringoborracho you must be a rugby player too. Good Take. After playing in similiar condition only a player really understand how hard it is to get your game plan going in weather like that. Its not simply hitting the 8 button with a little more force and the ball magically makes it to the wings.

As the Cowan vs Weepu discusion, Weepu has quite possiably the best pass EVER. I have never seen someone with such touch and thats in any sport (Coming from the US and watching forward passes all my life thats saying alot). The problem with Henry is that hes not about form as much as history. He sees Weepu as a differnce maker when he comes off the bench so he leaves him out of the starting lineup as his trump card for later. The problem is that Weepu was a differnce maker when Henry had Carter, Sivi, and McCaw starting which he doesn't so he needs to go on form and get Weepu in form the begining. Cowans issues where hidden when has such All-Time All Blacks around him but they come to the front when they are gone. Cowan cant handle the ruck when Rodney and McCaw aren't there controling it and Carter isn't there as a threat at first reciever. France t's off on Cowan because they controled the ruck and had no fear of Donald. Weepu give the All-Blacks a threat and would open up Donald to preform like he does when hes paired with Leonard. Which is a pairing I would like to see above Weepu starting. Leonard and Donald starting and Weepu off the bench would make the All-Blacks look like a threat. Now everybody is probably calling me "Idoit" now. I love Weepu (my fav All-Black of all time) but when you have "IT" which weepu does sometimes the impact you make over 80 minutes is nothing to the spark you provide in 20. If you saw the match in Brisbane last year you know what I mean.

Another example of why New Zealand union fans are going to league.[/b]

LAUGH OUT LOUD.

No one gives a **** about the Warriors unless they are winning, and no one remembers the League World Cup - if the Warriors aren't on a 5 game winning streak the NBL and the Netball get bigger crowds.

All I'm hearing at LU is New Zealand is being taken over by a rugby league Tsunami.

Seriously though, who the f*** would want to watch 10 attempts at penalty goals?

Leagueunlimited is full of retards who have been saying that same crap for years, despite the fact League is going downhill faster and faster each year and makes the NZRFU look like best run organisation the world. If it you don't take into account the Warriors, League is probably at best the 5th biggest sport.

I like league and it is simply a much better quality then rugby union at the moment. However, rugby union will always be the biggest sport in NZ. No one here plays league in any great numbers, there is no domestic competition of any note and the game is run terribly. Anyway, I hate league vs union arguments.

We all enjoyed watching the game with both sides doing well in those shocking conditions.

However, one topic dominated the conversation; MacDonald's featured in one of those rotating ads that appeared from time-to-time along the touchline ...

What the heck is a Kiwiburger? Tell me it's not what I think it might be.

"suspense"? I'll give you that...
"an epic fight"? Isn't it what pro rugby football is all about whatever the conditions?...
"The ref was not biased, just crap"? I agree 100%!

Just read in Rugbyrama that Bastareaud was attacked by five kiwis yesterday night when he was coming back to his hotel. He's got a severe facial trauma and won't be able to play the next game against Australia. He's taking the plane back to France with Jauzion and Picamoles.
So you guys were right when saying the beer-throwing retards in Dunedin were not that bad, in Wellington they actually try to kill your players. f***ing disgrace.

I've read the article: nothing's clear about the circumstances yet, apparently... In spite of the facial trauma, Basrareaud won't press charges against the muggers... Strange, isn't it?

Does anyone think that Donald telegraphs his movement too much? A bit slow to kick the ball, when he attacks the line he does it too early or just looks plainly like he isnt going to pass. Crap player in International, i mean, if he doesnt perform next week i think he should be benched until carter comes back, in which he should be cut from the team. But not all can be blamed on him, cowans poor abilities to dish out the ball quickly and dig for the it in the ruck is another factor. Maybe when Leonard comes back next week we might see a big improvement in Donalds performance, he just adds that extra element in the ABs attack, by darting from scrum half. The loose forward trio hasnt look this strong since the collins/sooialo/mccaw trio, pretty early to call, but they played alot better together this week, which is sad because im a real Messam fan. Thorn and Mealamu had outstanding games, they led the ABs forwards. Tialata has to go, terrible tighthead and embarrassing to watch really, especially when Afoa comes in and the scrum suddenly becomes so stable and menacing to the french. Conrad Smith and Rokocoko were terrible. Smith was nowhere to be seen, and was missing tackles all round, along with Cory Jane, who doesnt know how to trust his inside man. Rokocoko has been picked purely on history, he hasnt shown any decent form for years now and should make way for someone like Wulf or Hosea, even Masaga. Wasnt really watching the french much except for that Heymans try (brilliant stuff), while their defence was solid, as well as their aggression in the breakdown and scrum, really good. Their kicking game was good as well, apart from a few miss kicks into touch on the full, i think this french team can really threaten Australia.

Driven by hate perhaps  , he'll remember that for next time B)

I hope the second match will also be loaded with such beautiful tries scored as it was in the first one....

I saw the highlights of that match and all the tries were amazing

You are right in saying it is a disgrace, an absolute appalling act of thuggery. Hope the cowardly culprits get what they deserve.

As for saying we were right when saying that the beer-throwing retards were not that that bad. Thats a disgusting mis-quote. We merely said that the REST OF NEW ZEALAND, should not be judged by the actions of those idiots. We condemned their actions and also the attack on Bastareud. No-one is supporting either action.

As for saying that people in Wellington try to kill the players, that way of phrasing things indicates that this is regular behaviour and that they tried to KILL him. Both exaggerations.

This has been disgusting behaviour on two counts. Remember though, there were people like me, sitting at home with my two and a half year old. Watching the first half before putting her to be at halftime reading her a story before she nods off. So, yeah I deserve to hang my head in shame do I, Teh Mite?

Ouch :)

No, the Kiwi Burger isn't what you think it is. It's just a burger full of the things that New Zealanders love the most, I think. There's no actual kiwi bird in it.

The attack on Bastareaud is a disgrace, but to make out like those idiots are a fair representation on the New Zealand or Wellington public is ridiculous. That would be like me saying all Englishmen are football hooligans.

I know they are just two isolated facts, but I'm just saying those two events combine perfectly to make a bad reputation to the kiwi public, and sadly those tests won't be remembered by the french for the quality of the hosts. Now CA, when I traveled to NZ I met some of the nicest people in the world, had a wonderful time, and never felt rejected because I was french, hell I'm even sure I would have loved to drink a few pints with you! :bana: So I know they're not all that stupid (at least not more stupid than me).
Drunken f***tards exist in every country in the world, and when one organizes an event he generally prays for them not being too visible. Unfortunately, yours have managed to hit the headlines twice in two weeks.

Damn right they have tarnished some of our reputation! I'd love to have those guys rounded up, put into a room and allow french people to do as they wish for an hour! That'd fit the crime in my book.

I actually had far more of a problem with the "Hang your head in shame, NZ!" posted up by Teh Mite. Thats really saying as a nation we are all guilty.

I would've loved to catch up with you too elgringoborracho, shown you that there were some other good NZ'ers on top of the ones you met. :)
