New Zealand vs France, 2nd Test

14-10 New Zealand. Been a pretty shite game all round.

Opportunities for both sides coming from mistakes but thats about it.

Cant see the French turning it round. Dont really think they deserve too either. heymans has been absolutely class all day, but aside from that they havent really created much at all.

Yep all over. New Zealand win the game, France win the meaningless trophy, both teams get to leave the swamp and have a shower.

Watched it online there - Nice to see that NZ commentators are like all national commentaters on their own team - unbelievably biased!!

Amazing the relatively low amount of handling errors in what was horrendous conditions. Deserved win from Nz - Great Try from Heymans - Good start do the day all in all!

It's glaringly obvious every time Donald touches the ball he's hopelessly out of his depth.

Not created maybe Logorhea...but I think you are very hard to please here. Don't know how many teams would have created more than the two teams here regarding of the weather conditions.

Can be proud of this defeat. France forward were superior IMO (maybe expect in the 10 latest min) and were not rewarded for that

Ma'a Nounu and Heymans at their best

Donald is unbelievably out of his depth. I'd prefer Slade, Brett, Bowden and Ripia over him. He's f***ing useless and he certainly showcased this tonight. It's honestly just painful watching such an average player play 10 for the All Blacks when you know there are so many better options. Wake up Henry, Donald is not a test player at all.

On the commentators, it's worse watching it if you're a Kiwi I reckon, such a bad representation. Mexted's a twat and Nisbett is an aging dinosaur. If I had a dollar for every time Nisbett got Clerc and Haymans names mixed up tonight I'd be a millionaire. Painful to listen to.

Very average game to watch but congrats to us guys scraping home in the end and congrats to France for winning the Dave Gallagher cup. Good intense test series this was, just what we needed going into the tri-nations.

Nonu headbutt? Have I missed something?

It was a a late tackle, or more of a charge, completely unnecessary, but it didn't warrant lying on the ground for 5 minutes. Unsurprisingly the player magically recovered once the French were awarded the penalty.

The ref was crap in general, not just for the French. Donald doesn't warrant being in the black jersey, McAlister may be a rusty traitor, but he still did better than Donald. Weepu should've started and Latimer looked like class.

Well contested game. Glad the French pushed the All Blacks all the way rather than wilting under the pressure, which I guess they could have.

Yeah no doubt that Weepu is better than Jimmy "the drunkard" Cowan and should be starting. Latimer is our new long term back up 7, who will eventually replace McCaw once his days are up. Read put in a good claim for the no. 8 jersey and Kaino is definitely our premier 6. This means Messam and Thomson rightfully have no place in the team, as Rodney is still to return and put in his claim.

Hope to god McAlister starts at 10 against Italy for a solid test match hit-out before the tri-nations start, 'cos if we play Donald at 10 during the tri-nations we're going to get royally raped.

True, may be harsh but you didnt really look like you were trying to create anything outside of some pretty impressive counter attack play. Didnt mean it as a criticism, just a reflection on the game.

It was late, it was a shoulder charge and he connected with his head (a headbut). He actually had a good game but that was a cheap shot.

I'll miss the trophy, that I wasn't awared exsisted 3 weeks ago. The game wasn't "shite" despite a few mistakes, both teams played pretty well.

Decent performance by Les Bleus, everybody expected them to explode and they did well in a very physical game in terrible conditions. The Kiwis deserved it after a very dominant first half. Now to be a complete success this tour must end by a win over the not-so-impressive Wallabies... we were close in november, it's revenge time.

Heymans try was great. That is the french flair. If only he was more constant, he could be one of the best winger on earth. I find him more creative and unpredictable than pure finisher like Habana or Clerc.

No problem Logo.
It's true that after Heyman's try, outside game could have been more experimented, even if up and unders were very well shooted and wind advantage taken as NZ did in the first half. On this point, Yashvili didn't shine after coming in the game. Immediate outside game should have been enterprised after the scrums while we were in the NZ 30m in the latest 10mins.

Now no ill-considered attack have been launch in this final period, maybe this score was satisfying us and winning the cup a positive result for these tests...
Renunciation and lack of fighting spirit or signs of maturity ???
Don't know really but if we want to erase what every one in the world recognize at our huge default - No regularity -, we'll have to do it with such resolutions and strategy. This adaptation is not incompatible with French flair, I would say that it will at the opposite make it more unpredictible and give him more potentialities if it is correctively and opportunely used.

Well with such conditions + lots of points missed by dupuy + such a shitty ref, I'm really proud of the guys. The rucks were simply not refereed, on either side.
Great fight, I think that if we manage to win against Australia, these tests will be a very good starting point for Lievremont's XV to start being a great team...

I like Cowan, but it seems he needs a zap up the ass before every gam just to play well. I think we would have scored at least another try if Weepu had of started, because he doesn't dwell on the ball like Cowan. He's so much quicker at getting the ball out of the ruck and either having a dart himself or feeding it to the backs.

I think that if Henry were to play Donald again it would be stubborness on the coaching panels behalf rather than them knowing something about him that the New Zealand public don't. I know McAlister dropped the ball cold while we were on attack, but his tactical kicking, and knowing when to kick it, was just what we needed last night.

This game was crap, crap, crap all the way: players, ref, weather, stadium, atmosphere... Nothing whatsoever to be remembered!

We probably didn't watch the same game. I saw an epic fight in terrible conditions, I saw a great suspense in the last 20 minutes, I saw one of the best individual tries ever scored against the All Blacks. I also saw two teams who really played with their guts, without one really taking a psychological advantage, ...
The ref was really crap though, not biased, just crap.
