This is what will happen after an infringement
1/ Power play to opposition, 2 extra players for 5 minutes duration
2/ Violent behavior warranting sending off player replaced, power play for 10 minutes
3/ Penalty try rule to remain, plus power play for 5 minutes
4/ Games to be played for 90 minutes (to encourage fitness)
5/ Violent offenses non deliberate two match ban
6/ Violent offenses deliberately maiming, trying to maim, with or without causing damage
including punching, head butts, kicking, foul mouth, eye gouging and any other assault on another player or official, bringing the game into disrepute Minimum one year suspension from all forms of Rugby Union (player has the right of appeal). Rugby Union to forward major assault cases to the police
They say that the above formula will get rid of the thugs, slobs and cheats:eek:

They also. they being me, say that the above forumla is a load of tripe.

they also say 1.) rugby should be played with a completely round ball 2.) they should only kick the ball along the ground and not be allowed to pick it up and 3.) they now have to kick the ball in between a smaller goal post to score a point

btw wtf is a power play?

Sounds like a formula to get rid of props.

Never. Over my short fat body!

Powerplay is basically just a sinbinning. It's when one team has more players than the other. In ice hockey, though, it runs out when a point is scored or when the time is up, whichever happens first

One year ban for a punch???

I am not a big fan of fighting on field whatsoever but sometimes a situation arises when tempers simmer over and a few punches are thrown ..ref takes players aside ..gives warning or a card

enough said...one year for a punch is ridiculous..gouging however 1 year minimum

1/ Power play to opposition, 2 extra players for 5 minutes duration Silly
2/ Violent behavior warranting sending off player replaced, power play for 10 minutes Huh?
3/ Penalty try rule to remain, plus power play for 5 minutes Why?
4/ Games to be played for 90 minutes (to encourage fitness) ....That's retarded
5/ Violent offenses non deliberate two match ban How can you have non deliberate violence?
6/ Violent offenses deliberately maiming, trying to maim, with or without causing damage
including punching, head butts, kicking, foul mouth, eye gouging and any other assault on another player or official, bringing the game into disrepute Minimum one year suspension from all forms of Rugby Union (player has the right of appeal). Rugby Union to forward major assault cases to the police. Doesn't leave any flexibility. Seriously, a year for cursing?

Bananarama

I really want to know who "they" are. Because as soon as we find out "they" need to be locked up

"They" are IRB legislative bodies trying to look like they're doing something to distract their bosses from realising that their job has no more use. Speculation.

Geez rugby must be up there for 'sport with the most rules'.

This makes no sense at all. Without thugs and cheats, we wouldn't have anything to discuss, so there would be no rugby forums

Referees would be out of a job.

Also, if we had a one year ban for punching and a few sessions like this....

....you wouldn't have anyone left playing the game.

I know this is the "other" code, but the point is still valid.

If this becomes the rules of "rugby" it would no longer be rugby because you change everything about it that defines it. I think it should be called gaycrapshitball

To bring back an old favourite -

I also love how "foul mouth" is included as "violent offences" and can warrent a "one year suspension".
