How about a bi annual competition between North and South hemisphere selects (a bit like the Ryder Cup in golf) with alternating venues and seasons. I think it might create a lot of interest and be a money spinner if it was run and marketed properly. I would be interested to know what people thought. Feel free to be honest or to ask for clarification.

each time you reach a new thousandth post, a new Scotty is born.

i have a question, IM THE ONLY SCOTTY, WHY ARE YOU SCOTTY ?

Not anymore you're not ^_^

Scotty1, don't you think it would tread on the toes of the Lions and other international competitions a lot?

Run for your lives.

Ok, I'll change my username in a minute , I don't care.

About my idea: I thought it could be held at the beginning or end of the northern season one time and the Southern one the next time and only in the years when there was no World Cup or Lions tours.

And sorry if I'm boring people, don't know why I bothered really!!

I got used to it when I had a flood of members with the same Dublin IP.

It'll be Galway next Draggs, I will recruit another Superrprop.

Edit: Scotty1, don't mind us, ImScotty has a bit of a cult following around here. (Good or Bad!) Just a bit unlucky. To be honest, I can't see there being a sufficient demand for a Lions tour with the French and it'd just add to the already congested fixture list.

It's a good idea but I don't think it is 100% practical.

Is the idea like a best out of 3 tournament or what?

to be honest i'm going to ask a question, what is it with you's irish people and bothering me ?, was this suppose to be funny ?

EDIT: like i'm going to be 100% honest online, i was going to make a account which is called JrBig Ewis and make alot off spelling/grammer on threads and many other things, i didn't do it because i realised this 1) isn't funny 2) a waste of time 3) not even clever.

EDIT 2: im starting to feel like that i should have quit when i asked the question in a thread because i only come onto the forum to talk rugby and share some information about scottish rugby and what's new over here as there are not many scottish users here and when i do share all i get is people trying to act funny and make a second account to judge me for my spelling.

EDIT 3: and yes i do like to have a bit of a laugh here and there. but there is some stuff i cant stand so please

To address the question of the thread, there has been something like this done in the past on a smaller scale than what you suggested, but with pretty decent sides for both NH and SH.

The issue is that it would be seen as another of those meaningless representative matches, which clogs up the congested calendar further and doesn't attract the top players. In theory though, I like the idea, but there needs to be less matches in the season to make it feasible.
