Lions: Return to Oz

Is everyone trolling in here or....?
Visser is an excellent winger.

Trolling.

He's prolific, a work horse and bloody consistent. Lee Jones is great in defence but he doesn't have anything on Visser as an attacking threat.

Who else is even close to those two as 11 and 14 for Scotland?

Visser definitely has something. But I think it's fair for people to be doubtful as there's plenty of domestic players who don't make the leap up.

Also - Tommy Bowe's defence is hardly the strongest at the best of times tbh. Trying to think of a winger's who is mind... but yeah, not exactly major kudos. Good finish nevertheless.

Though it's pretty much the only redeeming aspect of his game these days, sadly...

Fitzgerald has always been ver strong defensively.

Visser is a good wingerbut I difinitely wouldn't start him and I don't think I'd pick him in my squad partly because of his Dutchness and also because of a lack of versataility

I think you guys should put a red jersey on the Ireland team and call it the Lions.

I am trying to work out whether you like Australia, have a large misconception of Ireland's ability, or were making a joke - and tbh, I don't have a clue!

I've been impressed by Visser for a while. That said, it's a bit sad how wingers are more and more resembling 6-foot-ridiculous behemoths. Might be a bit much seeing North, Visser and Cuthbert turning out for the Lions. That said, at the minute I can't imagine Cuthbert turning out for the Lions. (Actually, I can, on the account of Gatland being the coach.)

Hopefully England get Sharples a decent amount of game time, and see if Strettle can keep improving (and Ashton gets shot out of a catapult to make way for Sharples).
I wouldn't be surprised if May had overtaken Sharples for Gloucester and England by that time tbh. Don't think Strettle's good enough for the Lions, and I'm hoping he's not seen as the long-term future for England either.

I like this even if it's probably sarcastic.

What you think we're not good enough we'll show you we'll all show you.

I don't trust visser. It's just a gut feeling, I wouldn't let him near my kids. I definitely wouldn't put him on the lions

Squad for tour in my opinion

1: Jenkins
2: Best
3: Ross
4: Gray
5: O'Connell
6: Ferris
7: Warburton
8: Denton
9: Phillips
10: Sexton
11: North
12: Roberts
13: Tuilagi
14: Halfpenny
15: Kearny

subs:
16: Jones
17: Ford
18: Charteris (if he gets back to fitness..)
19: O'Brien
20: Bowe
21: Farrell
22: Barrit

Who would you change from that?

Hilarious a whole frontrow, a specialist 8,9 and 13 and someone who can play 10 or 15 just doesn't make sense to me. Also Hartley and Murray on the bench are bad choices. (and no I don't think they should start)

Just my two pennies worth:

1. Jenkins
2. Best
3. Jones
4. Gray
5. O'Connell
6. Ferris
7. Warburton
8. Denton
9. Blair
10. Sexton
11. North
12. Roberts
13. BOD (I'm assuming that he'll quickly capture onto some form after his injury, if not, then Tuilagi)
14. Bowe
15. Kearney

16. Hartley
17. Healy? (Can't say I'm an expert on the front row - I don't really know which props are able to play on both sides.)
18. Lawes
19. O'Brien (think he and Lawes would be dynamite off the bench)
20. Phillips
21. Farrell (unless Priestland ups his game)
22. Halfpenny (If Priestland is on the bench and already covering 15, I would consider just having an out and out winger for this spot depending who's on form)

I can't put up any longer with the view that Cole shouldnt be in a 22. It drives me absolutely bonkers to see Ross and Healy there over him, as it goes against both form and general ability, frankly. My two cents is that the three top British props are Adam Gethin and Dan.
