I'd pick Paul Warwick ahead of O'Gara for the upcoming game. He might be the man needed to give JdV and Mafi the space they need. Besides, the latter have only had two games together thus far. I assume O'Connell will be in the starting XV this time, so he might even the odds regarding physicality in the pack, and Wallace will add more flair in attack. Also, Denis Leamy should not play on the blindside... he's much more of an #8. Definitely.

Any news on Hayes? If he does get the 9-week ban everybody has been talking about, then he'll miss out the away game to Northampton and at home against Perpignan... and probably the whole lot of November internationals against South Africa, Australia and Fiji. Bummer. Who will replace Hayes -- Buckley?[/b]

hearing is tomorrow at 4pm Irish time so we should know something a couple of hours later, seems like he's looking at anything between 4 and 8 weeks.
[/b][/quote]

Yeah have feeling that it'll be 6week myself so that he'll be available come Nov 15th.

But if Munster Union do get him off escaping ban or just 2 weeks :bravo:

They seem to have good plan set-up and solicitor in place supposedly a very convincing person

well whatever the plan that won't be the reason he gets off, it'll be purely down to what sort of break the Union want to give Hayes. They'll probably go for 6 weeks as there's no games for Munster after Oct 31.

he proved this Summer that he doesn't need game time before a big match, hadn't played for 6 weeks before he started for the Lions so I wouldn't have any issue with him coming in cold against the Aussies in November.

Yeah, he literally walked off of the farm, onto a plane for 20 hours and onto the pitch and performed very well. Was quite glad he got the call up. Hayes is a bit of a hero for me.

Agreed. Hayes is class. He's a gentleman on and off the field. I'm quite surprised as to his behaviour in the last match... but hey, we all have had our blonde moments.

I just can't honestly believe that Hayes would have targeted the face. Like I said many pages back, I think he intended to stamp, as he was, as I assume all Munster-folk were, completely frustrated, and the maul had been pulled down. I really can't see the big man knowingly going for the face or head.

We all lose our temper sometimes and emotions get the better of us and cloud our judgement. Him not being a repeat offender should hopefully get off lightly, especially if he and Healy have talked and cleared the air.

Agreed he can just walk off the Farm but that the Bull for you and well I hope he isn't punished as even if all of us are frustrated he is always calm and collected.

Even when Ireland won Grand Slam he didn't even go to Homecoming He was back at farm but that the man for you a calm quiet & shy.
He works as hard on farm as any farmer would and also plays the game purely out of love for game and Munster.

He one of biggest unsung hero's to have ever played game :bravo:

I was watching the game with almost 20 friends and not one of us thought it was intentional... we all dropped our jaws as it happened. Then again, nerves plays a big role in these games and it's hard to outweigh it without venting out one's frustration.

The fact Healy accepted his apology speaks for itself. Hayes embodies everything Rugby has championed over the years, being quiet, loyal, and down to earth. Along with Pichot and McCaw, he is one of my personal heros.

Lads Cian Healy is a future prop and as for playing on the edge .... Quinny does it for us and is hero Healy is bold and cheeky and way prop's should be and think he will eventually be rotating with Marcus before inheriting the jersey himself but he stilll learning and controlling disciplin but as for Buckley I think he is our only option as there is nobody else (pity Healy can't play at 3 for competition) but if Buckley plays like he can god bless who has to stop him as he has raw power that is scary but I confident the Bull will be free for Ireland and Buckley will batter in to the games over next 2 weeks and the game time in H'Cup wil benefit him great then our French bruiser will probably appear and that no harm as he pure old-school no-nonsense :D[/b]

Tough and all as he is i play with the hard players in Junior style
If there professional slot open though.......... :)

That's awesome. Given Argentine Rugby is amateur, I've had the pleasure to know many of the current Pumas. I've played a couple games with the Contepomi brothers (both attended my school) and Juan Hernandez used to be friends with one of my cousins. And since Gus Pichot retired I've come across him quite often (my Brother plays for CASI).

I used to play with older guys because of my size but all I can do today is play like <strike>Matt Dunning</strike> a kid. Don't regret it though. :D

Hey junior rugby is as good any :D

But haven't seen alot of him but heard Felipes brother was good enough to play on big stage. Is that true?

And maybe when Pumas join SANZAR the standards will all rise at all levels and maybe game will be professional and keep their better teams at home.
But would it be too much to transform Super 14 into H'Cup format and make few professional and competitive clubs from Argentina and maybe pacific islands....

Would that suggestion work

Yes he was. Manuel Contepomi has 32 caps for Argentina (which is a rather deceitful number, given the quantity of test matches Los Pumas get to play per year). He usually played as inside centre (with his twin brother Felipe as fly-half), but with the inclusion of Juan Hernández he switched to outside centre, where his tackling skills were critical for Argentina in tough games.

He played for Bristol and Rovigo, but retired after the RWC 2007, and devotes his life to aiding Newman Club, where he coaches some divisions, among other things (like being a TV commentator and host).

He may not have been as flashy or as skilled as Felipe, but his commitment and passion for the game made up for it.

I'd love to rant about the 4 Nations, the PlaDAR, and such, but I'd be going off topic. :p
