Leinster v London Irish

I learning to hit new reply

But any idea who'll loose out in Leinster backline?

RDS is Leinsters home ground and hard to play there when fans are on form.

Nobody. Ross in for Wright is the only change to Leinsters team. VanDeLinde is finally back on the bench and there is no place for McFadden. Other then that its the same.

There is one change to the starting line-up for the province's opening round encounter against the Exiles, with Ireland international Mike Ross starting at tight-head prop in place of the injured Stan Wright.

Eoin Reddan continues his half-back partnership with Jonathan Sexton with Ireland duo Luke Fitzgerald and Shane Horgan starting on the wings and Isa Nacewa lining up again at full-back.

In the pack, Ross comes into the front row alongside Cian Healy and John Fogarty with skipper Leo Cullen, one of 13 Ireland qualified players in the starting XV, lining up at second row alongside Scotland international Nathan Hines.

CJ van der Linde is included in the match day squad for the first time this season and the South African is named in a strong replacements panel.

Friday's game is a sell out and tickets will not be available on the day.

poor form leaving Kearney on the bench though.[/b]
Why? Cheika is the Leinster coach, not the Irish coach.

Yeah surprised to leave Kearney on bench but been fair they all on form but thought McFadden would be ahead of Berne.

But is Kearney dropped for reason or what but still very strong team.

Happy with the team. Kearney is unlucky but the back three are on fire right now. He's a great option to come on after 50 minutes, as are Jackman, O'Brien, O'Kelly, van der Linde.......

Slightly surprised there's no room for Fergus McFadden who loses out to Shaun Berne. I'm also hoping McCormack gets splinters on his arse and isn't summoned onto the field - he's dreadful.

it's more a case of 4 into 3 not going.

Kearney hasnt been dropped. Nacewa started the sason at 15 and he retains the Jersey. Its up to Kearney to get it back.

Given McFaddens form with the boot you would have thought he'd be there or there abouts. He's been playing well so its a strange one. What has he got to do to get in the squad? Berne has already shown he's a disaster at 10 so I dont really understand that selection.

Yeah wasnt sure though if Horgan would loose out but guess Cheika is picking on form!

This big test too for enning as S.Armitage is 1 of best 7's in europe.
Why England don't use him more often i'll never know.

Agreed about Nacewa just thought Kearney would get in on wing but it is a form side.

And exactly my point about Berne, I presume he picked to cover Sexton but McFadden offers more.
Who'll kick at goal if Sexton does get injured.... Kearney?
And even if McFadden on bench like Sexton still cover as Nacewa can play at 10

LONDON IRISH:

15: Peter Hewat
14: Tom Homer
13: Elvis Seveali'I
12: Seilala Mapusua
11: Sailosi Tagicakibau
10: Chris Malone
9: Paul Hodgson

1: Clarke Dermody
2: David Paice
3: Faan Rautenbach
4: Nick Kennedy
5: Bob Casey CAPTAIN
6: Declan Danaher
7: Steffon Armitage
8: Chris Hala'ufia

REPLACEMENTS:

16: Danie Coetzee
17: Dan Murphy
18: Paulica Ion
19: Andy Perry
20: Richard Thorpe
21: Ryan Lamb
22: Jamie Lennard
23: Alfredo Lalanne

Malone in ahead of Lamb. Thats a shame. Rather liked the idea of watching him miss tackles all day.

Oh and weather is meant to be wet and windy tomorrow. It may stop raining before th ematch but its still going to be soggy.

That rule out my prediction so  :p

But would I be wrong in saying with Malone starting that mean L.Irish will be hitting corners more so?
Hope Casey has big game tomorrow as does Kenneddy as that battle I looking forward to.

Hodgson v Reddan will be nice too.

No reason why Leinster can't win well here, Leinster by 13 is my prediction, but not getting the 4 try bonus.

If the weather continues like this until kickoff, we're going to have both teams play a 10 man borefest. It's f'n putrid outside.

was just about to say that, fairly minging alright. Don't think an attacking bp is on the cards, low scoring match in the offing so getting an 8 point win would be a huge result for Leinster.

Weathers clearing here in the IFSC so it'll stay dry for the game (wet underfoot). Have never seen the RDS suffer from poor drainage so you'd assume the pitch itself will be okay.

Regardless of whether or not it stops now the ball will be kept tight.. A pity, but still really looking forward to it...Wife better keep hold of the baby for at least another day! Otherwise i hope to god the Coombe has a TV!!!
