Latest world rankings disappointing reading

ask any1 on this forum about me and my thoughts on ireland they never change. i think ireland will win or make the final this year and i have said that even when they were losing there warm ups games.

Ok, but having confidence in your team to do well and rejecting any suggestion of another team being comparable to yours are two different things. One is fine, the other is a bit sily, especially when 'England' arn't claiming anything like that at all.

Ireland are a great side and I rate them but i'd be interested to hear what you think completely sets them apart from England?

i think ireland have alot of experience at this world cup which could prevail come the end of the tournament while england is mostly made up of youth and are not used to the world cup stage because it is their first time dont get me wrong ireland do have youth but i think irelands youth is alot more mature i.e. SOB sexton healy and so on they won the heiniken cup this year with leinster and no what it feels like to win big trophies not that england dont have players in their side that do but i just think as a whole ireland are a lot more mature side than england atm.

Yes I have. I saw Ireland beat a totally overrated Ozzie team, who we turned over both home & away last year btw, and I also England get off to a stuttering start. Doesn't mean we have all of a sudden become a bad team though. The Welsh lost against the Saffa's and they were hailed as heroes.. work that one out. But the so-called celtic nations are used to fighting bravely and then losing I guess.

May be overrated but they are the try nations champions so a great win none the less also if Ireland Beat a team Engerland beat and Ireland beat Engerland the last time they played against each other in an important match Ireland won what does that say about the two teams? I never said Engerland are a bad team just that currently Ireland are playing better but I do think Ireland have the ability to F*** it all up vs Wales.

And fighting bravely but losing? Ireland have won more 6nations matches than Engerland.

I think we had this argument yesterday. In Home nations history, England are the most succesful nation, with the most victories & ***les. Or doesn't pre-2000 matter? Until recently your last Grand Slam was in 1950 something.. so I guess its nice and conveniant for you to only include the last 10 years in your little cosy so-called celtic World.

A minute ago you were claiming to be better rather than just more mature? I see where you're coming from but I'd say theres nothing conceptually different between a winning finalist in something and being a losing finalist - the experience you get is just as valuable, and for every young Irish player with experience of winning the heineken with leinster such as Healy, SOB, Sexton etc, theres an England player who played and lost in the final with Northampton, Foden, Ashton, Lawes, Wood, Hartley. I'd say Youngs and Tuilagi are the least experienced English starters, but both have played in advanced stages of the heineken with Leicester. Haskell and Croft are both young still but have both played in finals and won virtually every competition there is with Leicester and Wasps. Added to that we have 4 very experienced 2003 medal winners. Finally, if losing in the semi's/final of the heineken is so different from winning it, surely the Irish heineken cup experience by the same token doesn't transfer to experience of world cup knockout rugby: something most of the irish side have no experience of whatsoever, even the old timers.

OK, will do. England have won the World Cup... has Ireland or Wales or Scotland? Nope, its yet another example of so-called celts settling for second best.

yeh forget 2007 that was a shambles previous ireland teams havent been as great as this 1 in my eyes. This ireland team has real potential to win the rwc this year and if you disagree with that u would be a madman tbh.

They aren't, please don't tar us all with the same brush.

If I had a "hypocrite/irony sensor" it would have just exploded
You had a go at Bristol Iain for mentioning a Wales team of the past, telling him only the present counts - and then you pull this out of the bag?

it's not all English people , just the cocky ones .
i think England are doing badly for themselves so far , Ireland on the other hand are having a field day , but Wales will obviously beat them in the next round ;o if either of those teams played SA i doubt England would win with their current form ( jonny Wilkinson ahem ) Ireland on the other hand would win or come very close .

edit - wow 5 minutes and i miss a lot of posts

I'm not disagreeing that Ireland have the potential to do very well. It's just that supporters of every other nations, - including the Tri nations teams - have said well we might do well, something might go wrong though. You seem to think nothing could possibly go wrong for Ireland and you haven't tbh really properly said why you think that.

According to Cnutdassian, this post was racist and I have therefore received my first warning lol. So be warned, whenever I see the abbreviation POM used I will report you for racism.

LMAO you reported me 6 times yesterday including for making my picks in the forum comp, whereas you have constantly put down others and brought racial stereotypes into more than one post.
