[June Tests 2018: 2nd Test] South Africa vs. England (16/06/2018)

Really failing to see your point? By that argument no Prem coach should ever then be allowed to handle the England team. He's done a better job of it than any Prem/Championship coach, ever. Just seems like you're being aggressively anti-Chiefs as per.
To be honest until Baxter develops a plan B he can't really have the job. I'd choose Deano at Falcons out of current premiership DoR/coaches.

Baxter is very good coach not denying that.

But he has shown with Exeter he needs to build a plan B when he comes up against sides who play similar rugby it hasn't worked.
He's still inexperienced coach, but if he (and I'm not sure he does) really wants an International job he should be looking to either develop outside his comfort game plan with Exeter or with another club.

Personally no English coach is ready for the England job ATM.

Sorry... what problem is Brad Barritt supposed to solve?!

Defence because you know the speed at International level is the same at Prem level...
Barrett is great defensive general at club level but like Brown, Robshaw etc too slow for the international ground, and if Faz is considered a slow 12 than Barrett must be pedestrian.

The worrying thing is the time, we're so close to a World Cup now that there can't be huge changes. Let's not forget that we do have a lot of players at home who haven't travelled to South Africa but some of the problems are deeper than that.

Discipline is killing us, forget anything else, if you continuously give that amount of penalties away you've got no chance. Make any points you want, it comes back to discipline and until they fix it, they'll keep losing test matches. Discipline with the ball as well, throwing poor, needless passes when it isn't on and not building pressure.

Decision making wasn't good enough, Youngs and Ford are issues for me. The decision not to go for the posts was a strange one. Just seen Youngs interview as I type, he needs to sort himself out IMO.

What is England's largest losing streak? This must be approaching it now...

Hoping to see next week:

1. Vunipola
2. George
3. Williams
4. Launchbury
5. Itoje
6. Shields
7. Curry
8. Vunipola (if injured then Simmonds)

9. Spencer
10. Cipriani
11. Brown
12. Farrell
13. Slade
14. Solomona
15. Daly

England have lost 5/6 games in a row and what is most worrying for their fans is that there seems to be no lessons learned. There seems to be the same problems now as there was after their first loss but now there seems to be loads of silly penalties added to that as well.

13 penalties and a YC.

So... no improvement from last week, discipline wise?

Many of these problems have been evident since EJ first took over as well - I've been saying it for a while, even when we were winning we showed some massive flaws and weren't learning from them. The win streak papered over cracks and (I said at the time) we were winning ugly and not learning, our luck was gonna run out and it did. Hard.
This is three years of no evolution/learning.

Still not that worried re World cup.

Thing is time together and fitness.
Cheika made a big thing about the aussie player not being fit enough and made the franchise teams work on the player fitness.

England you don't get that because clubs owners will ***** and moan about the increased rest that goes with it.

Ben Youngs should be ashamed , you don't treat a person in the media just trying to do their job like that . Front up and accept the loss not cry like a baby. Answer the questions and move on. Toddler behaviour

Do we look unfit? Have we ever?
Fitness is definitely a massive part, and being able to keep up intensity (or turn it up late on ala the All Blacks) can win a game, but not conceding 10+ penalties every game is also a big part of it. Contest at the ruck, maul defence etc..etc.
No point being the fittest team in the world if all it means is you can infringe with more intensity in the 75th minute
