June Internationals: Canada vs. Ireland (15/06/13)

Canada a bit too obvious. Doing all the passing way before they reach the Irish line so it's easy for the defence to just drift across.

Agree, that and the backline lacks the attack from the centres that we would normally have. I like Hirayama but one of those floaters is going to end as an Irish try.

Edit: I swear that weather lady just said "Canada are a bunch of douches."

There's far more words that dont sound anything like English though mate. For a non Irish person Irish would be a mind **** of a language to learn :D. Ive studied German and a bit of Spanish and they're far easier to pick up on.

For plenty of Irish people it's a mind ****. In fairness you'd expect the others are easier as they're from Latin. I'd speak enough German that I could communicate after a fashion, my Irish is nowhere near as good.

Decent first half, some good play by both teams and physical. I really want the Canadians to score at least one try just to show that they have some skills. Indeed I thought they have better runners than given credit for. that ginger lad at 15 is dangerous in attack, and the fly half has some nice distribution. Madigan playing great here, its excellent to see him pulling strongs like this, because his game management has been criticized a lot in the past.

I like this comparison, but I think spencer and Carter is a better comparison, as Spencer was prone to those miracle moments like madigan is to. Cruden is a good FH but much more solid (now) then Spencer.

I can see where you're coming from but in fairness Madigan has become a lot more solid lie Cruden. Yours may be more apt for the style of players but what I'm trying to get at is the class difference. Cruden is a quality player and would start for most countries but Carter's just on that plain above that Cruden is unlikely to reach, especially while arter is still around.

Sorry if I sound a bit dickish yours is perfectly good comparison. I'm just very tired and have no idea if what I'm typing is making sense.

Aye, learning it well wouldnt be a problem if it was thought better in schools from primary upwards. My Germans probably better than my Irish to, as much as im ashamed to admit it.

Wow that's unfortunate. Guarenteed try if it hadn't been a previous infringement.

Well deserved Canada.

Momentum is a harsh mistress.

Our centre are now getting carved apart.

Thanks Jason Marshall. Cost us vs Italy and Ireland with his boneheaded plays.

Irish captain setting a great example... Has he been in every case of handbags so far?

PO'M has carried well tonight and done well in general but would he ever stop trying to be the hardman.

Poor effort by Canada there... the third string backline is starting to show its stuff.

Strong finish by McFadden to get the hat-trick and good conversion from Jackson.

Relaively hapy with the performance would rather some players had been given more development oppurtunities though.

Missing so many first choice backs really cost us this game. Our forwards just got too tired, but they did show up to play for 60 minutes. I really never want to see hirayama in XVs again, except for the upcoming Japan test.

crowd was 20,396 btw.

I'm more concerned about seeing Braid at fullback, he needs to be at 10 or 12 only.

Much better performance from Ireland. Canada tired in the end so the scoreline was a bit flattering although I thought the ref let Canada off with at least 2 yellow cards. The performance was the main thing. It was a bit scrappy still but the attack was miles better than last week. I don't think theres much between Canada and the USA so to score 5 or 6 tries tells its own story.

Irish is closer to Latin than any Germanic language. Latin broke away from the Celtic languages and I'm sure I read it was similar to the language of the Gauls - who spoke a Celtic language.
