Ireland vs England

Reading some of the crap in the papers etc since Saturday, you'd be forgiven for thinking Ireland won the bloody tournament. Or for that matter, weren't utter shite until the final game!
well their hardley gonna write about the england team lifting the thropy in a hotel people would rather read about ireland kickin 7 shades of **** out of the so called champions england.

the so called champions england.
This photo must really hurt you:

Or this one:
The worst centre partnership in international rugby, yet they still get to raise the trophy:

Both teams will be looking towards the world cup now and both need to become more consistent.

Overall the tournament was poor and all 6N teams need to play a better brand of rugby. Ireland played brilliantly in patches and Kidney must now stick to one gameplan and not keep changing it. At least stick with it until the players are comfortable with it.

Just an observation and how are we 4th in world and gap between tri-nations and 6 Nations has grown

I can't believe how convincingly we won this one. I backed Ireland at 5/1 to win by 1-5 points as I had a feeling we would win, but to win by such a big margin? I didn't expect that at all.

Straight from Kick Off when England won their own KO I was a tad worried, as I thought they will be a dominant force but for one reason or another they didn't really perform. Having said that we played very well. Forcing England to make a few penalties and racing into a 9-0 lead. After that we was always on the front foot and never looked liked losing. We certainly bossed them from all areas. I thought England had a 5-10 minute spell in the second half where I was worried about a slight comeback but we did well to keep them out, having said that it was our mistake that gifted England a try.

Good to see O'Driscoll to get that try to become the highest try scorer too.

Overall though I do think the best team in the tournament won, as even though England wasn't at their best, and they will be the first to admit it too, they pulled out the results. Having said that I do feel however if we hadn't gave away too many silly penalties in the earlier games, we would have probably been in the running for the GS.

Fair play to England on winning it. Both teams have a lot to work on for the WC though in my opinion.

I blame the media for every English loss....seriously do the press have to pile that much pressure onto a team ? every football world cup they are expecting to win..and they flop :/ when in fairness they have a very good quality side.

PS: I assume you've gone back to supporting Ireland since opening the account "nzforworldcup2011"?????

Cheap T-Shirts for Sale at NikeTown London.
The "Grand Slam 2011" t-shirts. Ha Nike must feel like clowns supposedly they've a winning ad and all on YouTube.

Interesting to see though on papers this morning alot of various journalists were asked about our backrow and not one person seems to think Ferris will get back in. That is a bold call

What?!
That's mad, as decent as SOB is, Ferris mops the floor with him all day and all night

Wallace playing so well on Saturday fucks everything up there though. Otherwise, you could move SOB to 7 and fit Ferris in nicely at 6. But for the first time since 2009 David Wallace actually played like his former, awesome self, which makes selection that bit harder.

Ireland up to fourth in the world rankings pretty much goes to show how bad NH rugby is at the moment.

As for backrow, Ferris would need to earn his spot but you could well see Heaslip making way for one or the other. Its good to have the options.

That Grand Slam ad is going to work out brilliantly for England's kit manufacturor. How many people will watch it and see the Nike logo as a result of them being premature in creating the ad?

George Hook said in the Indo there's a possibility of moving Donnacha to the bench and putting Ferris in at 2nd row... If it works we'd have the scariest pack ever! But it wouldnt work and will never happen

Wouldn't it be safer to find out if he'll even play again? Losing all the cartilage from your knee is a pretty serious injury, unless he's absolutely 100% recovered he'll end up in a wheelchair playing after that.
