Ireland vs England

That ref was ******* abismal - the only way irish won because they were enabled to constantly high tackle, not roll away, stand up in scrums 3/4 times in a row with no consequence and go offside and in at the side at the rucks. And the ref gave an ridiculous yellow card to England :0 I;d be fine if the Irish won on the back of playing well or because England played badly, it's just so disappointing and embarassing for rugby in general. Irish should be ashamed at that win and that ref should be taken outside and shot.

I suppose from an England point of view it exemplifies the need for a GOOD centre partnership and some proper experience - Wilko should have really started today because that backline looked completely lost. Hape should be taken outside and shot as well, he cannot cannot cannot be in the world cup squad.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, what a sore loser! Are you actually that blinded that you actually think that's true? You're pathetic, admit that your team got absolutely destroyed tonight like the other English fans.

that was too easy... and come on, don't blame the ref. the English were useless and showed zero creativity. i know i said before that i hoped the players that have been playing badly would play really badly but that performance has given me some hope. let's hope they can add some consistency. i somehow don't see how the ref was THAT against the English. BOD's first try was disallowed, which i thought i was extremely hard done by but we went on and scored another, again BOD. England were bad full stop. the English should be happy with the success they've had with a young team and should look to a good future.

Lol, and the calcutta cup...

Did you see all the high tackles by the Irish? They all looked identical to the one made by Ashton which was penalised. Ireland deserved to win nonetheless, even if the ref had been fair on these, he was still crap though.

Can we please stop the childish bickering? Cop on and actually discuss the match.

hahaha that pic is hilarious when put into the context of things.

Not really, there's a very good chance of England winning the 6n and since we're not the last match there won't be any after match celebrations. So; quite fitting actually.... *turns off pedantic swith :p

oh thought u put up a picture of a throphy that is earned by beating scotland

funny that even the italians could beat the french but ireland could not !oh well

Great win for Ireland. Scrum was sooooo good. Jizzed after the 1st one. England just didn't show up. Didn't seem like they were expecting Ireland to be that good. Ireland punished absolutely EVERY English error which is just great to see. So many players could've gotten MOTM: Ross (Monsieur Scrum), O'Brien, Wallace, Heaslip, Sexton, BOD, Bowe, Earls. Let's take this form to the world cup.

As for this whole poor reffing call... Once or twice at the scrum but really this is clutching at straws. Veux has totally over stated it though.

Expect an influx of little Irish glory hunters to the forum in the next 24 hours.

King D'Arcy, you mistake crumpling under pressure for arrogance; a lot of inexperienced teams struggle to cope with pressure, and you could see England struggling with it in the last two matches.

David Wallace was monumental and was the real man of the match for me. Reports of his demise have been greatly exagerrated.

Also, I'll just point out that the much maligned Trimble and Best both had very solid games ;) (lets gloss over Tom Court...)

Well done Ireland, absolutely fantastic. A really intense game in which Ireland were as dominant as I have ever seen a team in the six nations.(The score could have been greater, but forgetting that just in all areas of the game) Just goes to show how meaningless in itself form is, and people all over forums who stated that Ireland and Wales were going to continue their bad form had ignored the talent both teams have to get things right.

England were absolutely pathetic. Horrible to be an England fan on days like today but we've had good days this six nations. Don't change whats not broke? It's now broke so we can think about changes. The midfield has to change completely. Banahan was poor, Hape has been consistently average. Lawes should regain his place from Deacon. Dunno about wood versus croft, wood still has been a good player this tournament. Youngs and flood were very poor but those things shouldnt be changed just because. they are still our best options.

I think on occasions england could definitely feel hard done. I don't think the referee understood the scrum at all. But to blame the referee is to completely miss the point. he performed much better than england.

I'll give the rest, but I thought SOB had his worst game of the tournament - if he wasn't getting smashed by Haskell or Flood (!) he was knocking on or just running into defenders

ireland played really well. Maybe they need to focus on passing the ball before going to the try line, they missed 4-5 tries by not passing the ball.
England played bloody awful.

Very even championship. Apart from England v Italy and Ireland v England, either team could have won any given match.

I actually missed the pasting England got in the first half, so can't really comment. I guess Ireland were confident of showing England how hard it is to win a GS. Saw the spat between ROG and Ashton toward the end - experienced effort to distract the opponent from focusing on his real job. So good news on Sextion, but what about Court - he was being destroyed.

Doesn't really make up for the Lansdowne humiliation of 2003, but not bad.

RE: Complaints about the Ref and the scrum.

Ireland should have been pinged once or twice for popping up once Court came on, but Ireland could have had 3 for illegal binding in the first half...once England actually got a penalty as a reward for Illegal binding SOOOOOOO six of one, half a dozen of the other.

RE: High Tackles.

Yeah, hands slipped quite high while players were being held up and DOC on Youngs in could have been a high tackle aswel but England had arms around necks in every maul.

To the ONE English guy who was properly acting the Drogba over the ref. WHAT side-entries? The ref was perfectly fair at the breakdown and stop looking for a reason to stomp your feet like a baby.
