Ireland v France

for those of you who are religious please start praying now. Sets it up beautifully now and France will be relishing the sight of Murphy

good man Luke, prayers shouldn't be necessary now. Right ROG don't make a balls of this.

What a game, that is one of the best games I've seen in a long long time. Quality stuff from both sides.

I think that's the best performance I've seen from this Ireland side, the England match included, because France played today, England didn't that day. Awesome.

5 up and 5 down for Ireland:

Up
1. Jamie Heaslip - monumental performance in defense and attack
2. Brian O'Driscoll - ditto
3. Gordon D'arcy back and on form
4. We showed we can play attacking rugby
5. 2 points

Down
1. Ronan O'Gara kicking everything poorly
2. Paddy Wallace tackled poorly
3. Ronan O'Gara kicking everything poorly
4. Ronan O'Gara kicking everything poorly
5. Tracy Piggott is still the post match interviewer

who cares, O'Gara kicked as he has done all season, thankfully it hasn't cost us today. Hopefully though the confidence from the win today will feed into his kicking next week, although he always has a problem kicking the ball from hand and off the ground in Italy, so we need the backs to be on fire next week.

Jamie f***ing Heaslip - I have never seen him play so well. It really shows what a difference a manager can make. Ireland's tactics were not perfect but when you can get your players as fired up as that it makes no difference. big thumbs up to Deccie!

well done both ireland and france for a fantastic match.

I'm prepared to admit now that Ireland are a good side and have a chance of winning the 6N... before I thought they were overrated but they've all stepped up to the plate when it mattered. Heaslip especially looked Lions material.

One little problem comes at 10-12.

it's a fair criticism but one which I'm not gonna lose sleep over cause an on form Jauzion and Fritz didn't destroy them.

I know Hook made the point about ROG being the difference but for me a lot was also down to O'Leary, not his finest performance but he offered so much more than Whitaker has done so for Leinster. Obviously having ROG outside him also helps. So we can't all jump on Gaffney then. Kidney certainly has the belief back which is one of his strong points in his coaching repertoire.

Stringer will never get on to the pitch with ROG and Wallace at 10 and 12 that is for sure! I'm still buzzing after the win. Best game of rugby I have seen in a long time!

I am especially delighted for D'arcy. I really do hate to inflate his ego even fut her, but good call all those days ago sir.speedy on D'arcys impact pf the bench.

Only change for next week is Earls in for Murphy on the bench.

Agree with that 100% re. Earls.

D'Arcy though isn't like the D4 ego you get at Leinster, he's a class act, never obnoxious when you see him around Dublin and I'm not talking about nightclubs and pubs in Dublin.

One of the best quality matches in 6 nations history, just one to thing to reel off, Heymans is incredibly overated, i rate him below Poitrenaud.

What a win for Ireland, to score three tries in a match of this intensity was sooooooo much better than the shambles of the autumm. France looked better than last year, at home they will be very tough to beat. I think both sides will challenge for the ***le, i dont see a GS this year.

The internet told me that there's only an outside chance of Earls being fit.

Exactly. The right coach makes a huge difference. I can't remember the last time I saw any of the Irish forwards play with aggression for club or country, it was possibly England in Croker 2 years ago. The big difference though as Conor O'Shea said it looks like they could play like that all the time where as 2 years ago it was a one off special match.
