But do we have a Carter in the making?[/b]
Whoah, easy now! Sexton was very good but it was only one game against Fiji. He has a long way to go before he can come close to Carter's consistently excellent level. What I would be prepared to say is that if he continues his rapid rate of improvement, he'll reach levels I haven't seen in an Irish flyhalf for a very long time. He combines David Humphreys flair with Ronan O'Gara's tactical appreciation.

Any word on Jerry Flannery? I was being ****** on in the North Stand and couldn't see what happened to him.

Kidney said in the post match conference that it was just a bang on the nose and he should be fine for SA.

Hayes was dissapointing on our own ball, as Hooke, Pope and O'Shea were quick to point out.

World champions. From the SH. We've never beaten SH world champions.[/b]

Munster have :D (couldn't resist :p )

Saw some highlights of the game online.
Ireland played a very good game from what I saw, pity Fiji wasn't able to score more.

We really need to get rid of Little. He's too old, too slow and offers nothing in attack.

His passing was too farking slow, intercepted countless times that one of them led to BOD's try. Couldnt even orchestrate a decent backline move...

It's time we let go of some of these excess baggages before 2011.

I just hope we play all of our rookies this weekend against Romania. It's time we blood them in.

Who would replace Little, Fiji has little depth at 1st 5/8. I think Little is a great technical fly halve, which while is is very old, Fiji has no worthy replacment. That being said, I could be wrong.

They could move Seremai Bai to fly just as they did against S.Africa in RWC2007. Naqusa at wing and Roko MAYBE at center. (bring back the Cibi)

Then what is the purpose of this tours???

Apart from trying to win, this tours are also a good oportune time to blood young players against quality oppositions...

and that's the major problem when the bloody Fiji RU appoint coaches who have no f**ken clue about local base players. Most of the time, they keep going back to experienced overseas-base players.
Yes, they good once...but it's time to move on...(see what's happening to England and their over-reliance on Wilkinson).

As mentioned above, Bai is well capable of playing at 10. Jonetani Ratu was on the bench but never used. I have also just learned that 19-year old Josh Matavesi prefers playing at 10 than fullback. Then there's Luveniyali @ Harlequins.
Back in the islands, there's at least 2 players that I think can also do the job.

If they had been given this chance, then come 2011...coaches would be having a cracker of a time in deciding who to pick.

(my opinion) They should "blood the young players" in something like the Pacific Cup competition not a Europe Tour. Line outs were working good for Fiji though in this game.

Declan Kidney must heed the advice of George Hook and start Johnny Sexton.

all that shows is how much of a prick McGurk is, especially with that nonsense about bottling it at the end, ask the right questions and you'll get the right answers, dip ****. Of course everybody, it seems bar Kidney, is going to pick Sexton but when you're asking about the team you think will be picked and the team you want to see picked, obviously the answers are going to be different.

I think Keith Earls had a good games showed real consistancy and took his tries. however possible start Horgan and Bowe fo the SA test to punch hole through the huge springbok defence.

Which brings us back to the original question, why not give them the chance in the Europe tour when they've been 'blooded' in the Pacific Cup.

Take Jonetani Ratu, played in the Pacific Rugby Cup & Pacific Nations Cup.... playing against either Scotland or Ireland would have been a good gauge for him to see where he's at and where he needs to improve.
