Game of Thrones

So have people been watching the latest season? If so what do you think of them. I think it's been epic and I love the little nods to the books rereading the books and am just finishing up A Dance with Dragons. I'm also going up to the expo in Belfast. I'm officially a huge ****ing nerd for GoT.

I even found myself trying to concoct a coherent sentence with as many GoT mottos as possible. Of the top of my head this was my best one.

Winter is coming boy, we do not sow and we shall bring blood and fire, ours is the fury and you shall hear me roar!

It's not very good :(

Can I come with? ROOOODAAAD TRIPPPP

You guys will enjoy the season finale, if they do what I think they will. It will definitely make it hard to wait another year.

Strom of Swords in being split into to seasons, which makes a lot sense and explains why after 7/8 episodes were only half way through.

Even taking that into account, this part is in the second half of Storm of Swords (about a quarter of the way through Part 2, if I remember).

With regards to the series as a whole, they're going to have to split all the remaining book into two parts, and I wouldn't be surprised if they add in some of the side stories as well, around the time of Feast for Crows.

As it stands, Martin will finish the two remaining books (The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring) in around 2016 and 2020, at the earliest (most likely). Although the show runners know what Martin is planning to include in these books, he won't let them film anything he hasn't written, so they'll have to wait for him to finish before they can produce more seasons. This means that we'd have to be receiving the TV show like so:

2013 CoK Pt1
2014 CoK Pt2
2015 FFC Pt1
2016 FFC Pt2
2017 DWD Pt1
2018 DWD Pt2
2019 WoW Pt1
2020 WoW Pt2
2021 DoS Pt1
2022 DoS Pt2

That is an incredibly long time for a show to be on air, especially when young actors will age at a rate that means they will have to be replaced. Of course if Martin gets his A into G then we may see the books earlier, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Da hell...

I'm wishing away the next two weeks so I can see the next episode - wishing away the next 9 years is going to be rough. I'll be 30 by the time I can start my GoT marathon...

Pity the poor ******** who have to wait six years between each book ;)

But yeah, I legitimately can't see any way for the series to not last another decade - George R R Martin is just too slow a writer.
