France vs All Blacks (21/11/21) 09.00am NZDT @ Stade de France, Paris

Laumape sucks at test level. Period. If he was actually any good he wouldn't have been ditched for Havili and Tupaea who were both debutants (?) this year, more or less.

Hell he even got outplayed by Paisami when they started opposite each other last year. And Paisami is... struggling.

At SR he's a great flat-track bully.
He wasn't selected over Havili and Tupaea because we have an absolute knob as a coach... it's about having a good combination working well for both midfielders to play well, Laumape never got a decent crack at playing in a fair few tests in a row... to call him a flat-track bully is nonsense, if you actually watched that video above you'd realize from basically a standing start he stepped BB who is one of the fastest backs in world rugby yet he couldn't catch him.

i know you think he has all this ability...thats why i said we disagree, im not saying he couldn't have got there...in fact i have said i think we should have kept him because i think he may have...but i dont see what you see in his current game....ive done some spectacular offloads in my time and more than the odd tidy grubber...dont make me nonu
Amazed you can't see the top all-round skills he has... not much point continuing this topic, as we're just going around in circles.

One-handed offloads look spectacular, in reality though they're pretty easy to execute, it's just a flick of the wrist out of the back of the hand, all the college teams are doing it too, it's become a pretty common pass these days.

Backs tend to make a bit of a mess of executing grubbers, as said before they tend to kick it directly into a player, instead of looking to grubber the ball between the players, also about the touch off your boot to get the weight right.
When players chase grubbers they've executed downfield close to the side line they hope the ball stays in to give them a chance to score a try, sometimes the ball rolls over the sideline though & the opportunity is gone... doesn't have to be the case, if you're right footed & on the right flank you strike the ball with the inside of your right foot, so when the ball hits the deck it will diverts to the left infield.
Again using your right foot & you're on the left flank, you strike the ball with the outside of your right foot so when the ball hits the deck it diverts to the right infield, vice-versa when kicking with your left foot.

One step doesn't make a player. There have been loads of players with great highlight reels who are, in reality, fairly mediocre.

Also BB sucks at defending lol. What a terrible example.

Unlikely as it may be I hope France smash them in this one. If anyone says I'm not a real fan I'd say real fans want the ABs to win the World Cup and our best chance of doing that is with Razor. Even if it happens mid-year 2022 he'll do a better job immediately (think Rassie with the boks) and if not him there's a whole freaking queue of better options. The more you look at the evidence, the more blindingly stupid it looks that Fozzie was promoted just because he was an assistant for X years. Allez les bleus lol.
Can't get behind this. **** France with a big long hard stick.

Probably the game I'm most looking forward to this weekend. I can't shake the feeling that this might end up being a heavy France victory.

Great start by France. This could be a cracking match

Well done by Dupont. Nice seeing a scrumhalf who can see a ruck is at risk and bloody does something.
