France vs Fiji

Im going for Fiji in this game. Full respect to Les Bleus though, Ive had that respect for them ever since they made the RWC final in '87. However Im going for my Island brothers.

GO FIJI!!!!

16 - 6 to france at halftime, i only just caught it online around 30 mins coz they're now showing this live in nz.

fiji seem to be playing alright but just some damn stupid handling errors, they're targetting the fiji backs with the high kicks esp Nalaga, and the conditions are pretty bad so there are knock ons everywhere. fiji's scrum looks pretty good though a lot better than what i thought it would be and Naevo is playing a lot better than i thought too. unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll see any amazing tries from the fiji backs in this kind of weather though.

but frances try was very lucky, yachvili missed a kick at goal and nalaga dropped the ball giving france a try, if it wasn't for that it would still be 9 - 6 at halftime

man it is so frustrating to see fiji making so many unnecessary errors, so many knock ons, another try comes from a fiji knock on

I think France outplayed when they found their form.
Expected a bit more from Fiji.

all those knock on's killed them, basically every time fiji starting putting on a good attack someone would drop the ball, but it was terrible weather, i think fiji will be much better in better weather.

france's kicking was just too superior, their first two tries were lucky though, both came from unnecessary knock on's due to the weather, their third try was a penalty try from a scrum

it was fiji's first game in a while too, these are guys who haven't really played together as a team and they didn't have much time to prepare. i was really impressed by Vulivuli though, apparently this guys' been a star in France and he looked great whenever he got the ball, Semisi Naevo also impressed me, i thought he'd be too old now but he was playing better than i've ever seen him. Nalaga and Ligairi didn't really play that well though, Nalaga's handling was terrible and i don't believe Ligairi is really a fullback, his good form for Racing Metro has been when he's playing as a winger and i think he plays better on the wing than at fullback. i hope fiji do put him on the wing instead of Naqelevuki, Naqelevuki wasn't really that good and i don't believe he's a winger, the guy has the speed of a flanker and usually plays at center or 2nd five. i think he was too slow to be a wing though

i think if Fiji play with the same heart but just have better ball handling they can beat Wales again

i said earlier in this thread if Fiji lose by less than 20 points i'll be happy, they lost by 22 points so i guess i'm almost happy lol

Sheet weather

I was disappointed by both teams and by the game itself, but how much of this disappointed is down to the terrible weather/playing conditions ? I guess we will have to wait for the next game to assess those teams.
