France vs Afrique du Sud

LOL, ja. Its a bit ridiculous but i think PDiv is trying to keep the attention off of the fact that the Boks got beaten and were played out of that game in the same way that Johnno is trying to keep the attention away from the fact that England have been, erm underperforming recently.

The result; SA will keep fielding a questionable front row (scrumwise) and... actualy I just don't want to talk about it.

Well, the anthem put me off, so why do you think it didn't put the players off? I mean, before anything was said in the media i wrote in this thread about how it completely put me off! It must have had some effect on the players if they were actually there listening to it!

But still, it's by no means an excuse. We lost because we just were not motivated enough. We were outplayed in every facet of the game. I think our guys have run out of gas, and France were playing with far more intensity than us. They wanted the victory a lot more, and whooped us physically.

In the end, it was France 20, Heinrich Brussouw 13. - Because quite frankly, he was the only one playing on the night.

I think that might have happened as well,
SA put 150% into the Lions series, then almost straight after, a huge effort into the Tri-Nations as well, so they might have burnt out

Yeah u right ! the anthem was really a bad move ! we have more or less an explanation now : As usual , the French federation of rugby asked the SA Embassy some names of people who could sing for the anthem , the SA Embassy has given the name of this rasta guy , SAn but living in France it seems , the FFR has not checked seriously this guy and here it is . So now The FFR says that they hired the guy with confidence and The SA embassy says that they gave this name but it was not considered as a recommandation by their side . They think FFR shoud have checked before the match...To be continued :D

Beyond this little diplomatic clash , France has delivered a great match of rugby and , i have to agree , SA ran a bit out of gas . They had a great year defenitly but certainly a highly tiring one , physically and psychologically . In the mean time , I do not think that a lot of team would have beaten France on friday and , as a french , i'm quite happy about this performance because there is a sort of continuity in our capacity to play at high intensity with our june south Tour (it was almost same players than friday..) . We have defenitly a strong foward pack and really nice forward substitutes :p but we miss a bit of consistency with our back lines for now...Even if i think that we have found great young players who will improve a lot their game , like Trinh-duc , Mermoz , David (we have always Bastareaud who will play again with France i guess..) ... I'm looking forward to watch France-NZ and the 6 nations in january to see if for once , France is able to keep the good job <_<

So Overall i have seen a great match with High intensity on friday ( i thought that Ireland-Australia was slightly less intensive...) , it should have not been so great for South Africa ...No worries , there will be other matches between both and some occasions to choose a shitty singer to sing La Marseillaise :p

To laugh a bit about these diplomatic incidents , we say in france that the foreign minister is on the back of the FFR because of the famous "table de chevet" (bedside table) incident in NZ with Bastareaud :p and the "anthem" incident with SA on friday . The rugby begins to have a high diplomatic price in FR :p Sarkozy do not want to make excuses anymore :D

I could not agree more. Great win to France, but it would have been a lot more entertaining (from a SA point of view) if the Springboks were at the start of the season, not the end.

And choosing a 200k euros shower for his presidential comfort ! yeah it is much more fun than to deal with Rugby incidents :D

About running out of gas , that is a main problem to judge well these June and November matches between NH and SH cause in June , in general NH players are at the end of their season and it is the other way around in November...

WHICH JUST SHOWS VERY CLEARLY THE NEED FOR A WORLDWIDE RUGBY SEASON! YOU'D THINK THERE WOULD BE SOME BRAINS IN THE IRB THAT CAN WORK THESE THINGS OUT! IT'S A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU.
I think SA should pick a 'proper' B-side and let them tour... anybody that watched the Currie Cup can tell that we actually have the depth to pull that kind of tour of successfully! Again you'd think...

Fully agreeing with that idea of a worldwide rugby season . Because we will never compete in a fair fight . This year was one of the few year where Lievremont could have taken his main players in June but in most of cases , it is always a B french team that goes in the June south Tour .

And there is another important thing to really improve : the "arbitration" of match . there is too much difference between North and south hemisphere sometimes . And so everybody has always something to say on it ...

Wow this is just to funny. He actually got cited for this!!! No wonder the Boks feel hard done by. The citing officer oviously looked at this tons of times and not once did he see the 15 actually pull Habana's leg to kick his own team mate in the face.

Eat your heart out WWF! 14 and 15 must have been in the changing room room saying at the first ruck you stay on the deck and I will pull the nearest placed players leg to kick you in the face, but not hard mind and then you proceed to roll around like you been shot, cue penalty and hopefully yellow card.

Yikes! I thought he'd get cited, but after seeing that there's no way he should be found guilty. Traille deserves the citation.

I was disappointed at the time, because I admire how Habana fights for his team off the scraps he's given but without being vicious. Full faith restored.

Vicious Move from Traille it seems...For the changing room , the police has found evidences of some sadistik plans : some leather cat costume and a whip

Saying that , there is a delayed tackle against Heymans deserving a lovely treatment by the commission...too ! There was no saint on the ground last Friday ^_^

France sent twice only B sides to the SH and this was due to a shambled Rugby season schedule due to the hosting of the RWC.

There's no obvious solution for a well arranged synchronised season between the two hemispheres. RWCs in the end remain the only time when the teams of Northern and Southern hemispheres come with a comparable level of training and form.

I'm not sure that could even be classified as a 'kick' from Habana.
Bloody hell, there are some pansies out there today if they feel things like that should be cited.

Shane Jennings got banned for 12 weeks, even though Nick Kennedy, the supposed victim gave evidence to confirm there was no gouge.

Common sense has no place in rugby's disciplinary procedures.

Depends what you call B sides ...in my mind , it was more not the original french 15 starting players (not automatically a Real Entire B-team..) but just some of them because a majority is tired or injured , because that is the end of the season . Some injured was more tired than injured :p . Anyway i was saying that it is quite rare to have our entire original team in June south tour and the few times we had it , we have made some good results ...
