EOYT: Wales v Australia, 01/12/2012

Our fragile mindset is to blame.
Yet again, we fall short when we are expected to succeed.
We should hire Plumtree for our next coach!

Yes. Plumtree! For months, I've been thinking "We could really do we a Canadian girl group as a national coach" but wasn't able to put my finger on which one until now!

I don't know what Priestland has to do to get dropped. He was lucky to be in the November squad at all given his form vs Australia in June and his form for the Scarlets, yet he has started in 3 of the 4 matches and played 42 minutes of the one he didn't start.
I think Priestland is the opposite of lucky. He was saying this week that he's seeking help from sports psychologists, that he's shut himself in his room for a few days after Samoa and that he's been feeling down a lot over the last couple of weeks. This goes far beyond sport: this is a person's state of mind we're talking about. As long as he's out of form and not performing, people are going to get more vocal about it, and he's going to continue to doubt himself and feel worse. I really feel sorry for him, because he should be using the international window to try and regain form at the Scarlets against weakened teams. But instead he's like a lamb to the slaughter with the way the Welsh management send him out every week in front of fans which are losing faith in him.

Agreed about Beck though. I would start him.

Shingler deserves the start. It's sad that McCusker and Turnbull had starts before him.

Ian Evans has been ruled out after failing a fitness test.

Lou Reed was start in his place.

Just wait till Cyril get's here........

Despite thinking that Reed was a promising player for the Scarlets a few years ago, he really hasn't developed at all. I can't think of one thing he does well tbh. He's lethargic, not all that big and certainly not an enforcer type of lock, not great in the lineout, not hugely creative. He's just ended up as a bit of a meh player.

Not any many other real options though. If we had Adam Jones playing, we could have afforded to sacrifice some weight in the second-row and play Shingler there with Tipuric in the back-row. But with Andrews at 3 (he had a good game outside the scrums last week, very good in fact, but he's a rubbish scrummager), we cannot afford to do that, especially with Alexander back for Aus.

Why the f**k is Biggar not starting? Priestland may cost us the game the way he's playing. As j'nuh said, it's not fair on anybody. It is destroying Priestlands confidence, and I am starting to feel very sorry for the bloke.

So, when will Roberts get clattered and wobble off?
That is a TRF favourite pack: Jenkins (lately), Rees, Andrews, Reed. Lovely ;)
Our replacements frankly scare me: Bevington and Lee. I'd rather bring Duncan in, honestly.

Reading what preistland has said i do feel sorry for him and i can't help thinking if he is in that bad of a mental state why haven't they played biggar or hook more ?

Overall i am happy with the squad selected its the best out of a bad bunch in many ways especially in the tight 5. Glad for Shingler he had a fantastic game last week.

Some marginal calls being made at the ruck area.

Looks like Wales are going to salvage a 2nd band place. With Argentina in the 3rd band due to some ridiculous 15 decimal point rule. They will certainly be the team to avoid in Band three.

Wait never mind.....more heartbreak for Wales and into band three they go....

Edit: From what I've seen Wales didn't deserve to lose this match, but I really think that Argentina don't deserve to be in band three either at the moment

Call of a slight forward pass ...

Yeah looked like it from what I'm seeing.

Wales are going to have to mix some things up for the 6N. Having Ireland and France in the first two games this year isn't going to make things any easier.

Wales cannot close games out at all. I didn't see it but this game sounds like a huge problem for them.
