[EOYT] France vs. New Zealand 09/11/13

Excellent performance so far. Intensity of the French is way above anything I've seen for a long time from them.
 
I can't be the only one who enjoys french style of play more than Kiwi game...
 
All Blacks haven't played much rugby in the French half in the 1st half; so far great defence and DC's kicking is keeping Darkness or the Whiteness in the game. Bad miss by Parra at the end of that half; France should be 12-9 up at half time.
 
Not the most exciting half of rugby. France look like they are really up for this match, and have dominated both possession and territory (and had the better at scrum time). Probably the only positive from an AB's perspective is the fact that we aren't behind after being largely outplayed in the first half. The key to the second half for the AB's will be getting and maintaining possession!
 
1st Half:
very happy with the first half. We suffocated an All-Blacks side that has run rampant on everyone all year long, everywhere, home or away. That Para charge down on his opposite number was no fluke, a token of our defense this first half.
We've looked aggressive, and with running intentions, just still couldn't quite cash all those in or cross the try line.....still disappointing, but hey, those are the freaking all-blacks, I don't expect us to be head and shoulders above the greatest side.
Very very happy, too bad Para missed 2 penalties, including a sitter at the end...
And we look strong at the breakdown, we're competing well in there, and we're controlling the tempo at restarts well, the AB's can easily fly in for a try one second after the restart kick each time.

Now...we need to hold in the second half.
Hold on, Fortress Stade de France, hold on !....

OH no I didn't say they play better rugby that would be a stupid claim to make... I just said i enjoy it more... for me more physical game=more enjoyable game.
 
I would be nice if the Ref would actually penalize France when they don't release the ball. It would mean we would have a chance to get the ball off them! Hopefully the AB's have worked this out and are now concentrating on blowing over the ball at the breakdown rather than trying to pilfer it...

Piutau!!! Out of nowhere really. Not convinced Piutau was on side though ;)
