England vs Wales - 06/08/2011 - RWC Warm Up

I think regardless of whether they call
"Blodyn 22, pel i'r asgell" or "Flower 22, "Ball to the Wing", if Phillips doesn't pass efficiently then we have no hope. Just wish he'd pass properly :( :(

hahahaa yer was gonna say that ^^^^ quite interesting center partnership with England i gotta say, quite "exited" to see how that turns out.

I really hope that England do a Haka. Just to **** the New Zealand media off.

The Media would go ape, then Wales should do the bread of Heaven from under the posts just to rub salt in the wound. Remember they went ape when that happened :p I quite liked it, fight fire.... with fire :p

The boy is clueless son if he thinks Davies is better than Roberts.

You would have said the same thing to me if I would have said Argentina would top their group at the last world cup, which I really believed would happen. Roberts is only considered better than Davies because of his reputation as an outstanding player (Just like France and Ireland were considered better than Argentina before the last world cup, because of their reputation). He is a good player, but in my opinion would be better suited to a roll as an impact sub, and batter some tired bodies. Or better yet, play fullback. Jonathan Davies just brings more to the game in my opinion.

Personally I don't think Wales use Roberts right, he can do a hell of a lot more than crash bang wallop. He's got a decent kicking game, great defence (he had a couple of superb last ditch tackles against the Boks in 08) and despite what you say, has actually got a cracking step. It's a pity there's no video around on YouTube, but a few years ago I remember he jinked his way through a load of Bath defenders to kick start a brilliant try for the Blues.
Also on the Stoddard tackling subject, surely posting a video of him doing an illiegal tackle helps show that he can't tackle properly? All I have to say is look at the Scotland match this year, missed some key tackles, one of which he led

* led to Byrne's sin bin. Then again his tackling was improved in the next game vs Italy.
Sorry about the double post, by laptop decided to have a strop and put my post up before I'd finished then didnt let me edit it <_<

With Roberts Imo gatland should give him a crack at FB sometime, as tbh for his size he's pretty fast, aint got a bad kick and has a good defence he should do well tbh and thats were he started for Wales. 12-13 I'm not to sure on I like Davies but who to put at 12? Hook would be nice despite he prefers to be 10.

I was joking about Stoddart being able to tackle. Why else would I have put in a :p? I just thought it would be an interesting video to share.

Alun Wyn Jones doesn't speak Welsh?
Would've thought he would, he's certainly got the name for it

No, Alun-Wyn doesn't speak Welsh. I'm actually related to him, second cousin I think, and that's on my Dad's side, where they all speak Welsh, so a little surprised.

Think Bennett went to school in England so not sure about him, possibly Lydiate or Bradley Davies do? Was about to say Warburton but he went to Whitchurch High, so doubt he speaks it fluently.

Pretty certain neither Lydiate or Davies speak Welsh.

Just watched the Manu interview on BBC, talk about charisma.... =/
Didn't realise he'd only been over here for 7 years, thought he'd moved when he was 8. Bit of a joke really, but I'm opening that prize-winning watermelon up again!

Jonathan Davies, George North, Toby Faletau, Dan Lydiate - Wales are fielding almost as many foreigners as England ;)

I couldn't care less, if they wan't to play for England/Wales or NewZeeland and they're eligible, good for them. But lets not get dragged into that debate :p.

Any one the scoreline? Winner?

Yep about 10 seems right. England should dominate most of the game. Really looking forward to seeing Wilko running out a starter again and hope he playes fantastic. Same goes for Flutey and Stevens.

What a rugby day, NZ-AUS in the morning then ENG-WAL and recording SCO-IRE for later :D, probably some running around with a ball after being inspired by NZ vs AUS :p.

I'm really gutted that Ireland/Scotland is on at the same time - why couldn't they have had one of the two matches on at 7pm or something =/

Fingers crossed Flutey is back to his best, was reading something before that says in training and in the trial match he's looking back to the 2009 form, which is good, as his 10 form was pants (though he was thrust straight back from injury into the squad)
Though anything is an improvement on Hape
It's going to be good having an actual centre pairing rather than just two tugboats in the mid-field :p

All but Faletau qualify by parentage ;) not got that much of a problem with Tuilagi, since (as far as I know) he played pretty much all his rugby in England and came through the ranks at the Tigers academy. Did assume he'd been in England longer than 7 years though, Faletau has been here since he was 5 I think, and only has only played rugby in Wales.
