England vs South Africa 20 / 11 / 2021

Shrieking her head off - Come on man.

I think Bath's recent performance has you in a foul mood. Coaches or support staff on the sidelines cheering on their teammates is common across all sports. How can you expect people to play with passion and the crowd to be jazzed up, but the coaching and support staff to be wallflowers? Her going on the pitch is wrong, her cheering on the Boks is fine and perfectly normal.
Or maybe I'm fed up with the hypocrisy of South Africa complaining about all decisions they think went against them but then making excuses for a pretty cut and dry case...

There are limits to what people on the sidelines can do, standing directly in the line of sight of the assistants is not one of them and actually running into the pitch during live play is definitely not on.

The fact you are even making excuses for this is laughable.

I'm not a man. And yes, shrieking her head off. We all heard her during the Lions Tour. This was no different.

They almost always have a zone they are allowed in when that is the case. Not running up and down the touchline getting in the way
Then have WR change the rules. People are upset because a member of the training staff did something perfectly legal.

Pretty sure running onto the pitch celebrating while play is still active isn't legal.
That's not what we are debating. I clearly said that was wrong. What others were made about was the Boks medical personal cheering from the sidelines while following a maul.

The English supporters need to lighten up. Sports are a way to channel passion in a positive way and cheering on your team is great. We don't need a bunch of fans politely sitting down the entire time golf-clapping.

We don't need cheerleaders and shrieking back room staff to enjoy the game, thanks. Some of us can enjoy a game without that nonsense.

Pot, kettle.

As annoying as it is, I actually don't care that much about her running up and down the pitch, but there is absolutely no way in hell she should be on the pitch in that second video.

Her jacket is the same colour as the SA jerseys and if you're a defender and you've got a split second to make a decision, that could totally put you off.

No excuses. World Rugby need to stamp on it ASAP for all teams (although I can't say I've noticed it with anyone else).

You do realize I am not South African, correct? I love entertainment. I love a bit of drama. It's a bunch of grown men playing a kid's game for a king's ransom.

The reason Rugby has the names of companies on the front of the kit is because they cannot figure out that sport is about entertainment first, then everything else second. The reason rugby is begging for private equity money stems from an inability to monetize their product effectively. Meanwhile over here, we are building $5B stadiums that are designed in conjunction with shopping, dining, entertainment, and the sport itself. The sport is a part, not the full experience.

I'm sure Olyy made the point that she's in serious danger of getting mown down as well. Imagine if an England front row finds themselves with the ball in that channel - are they going to check to see who happens to be there or are they going to charge at full tilt.

Exactly.
Either she gets splattered or it puts the player off their stride. They have enough to think about without worrying about back room staff trespassing on the pitch.

Agreed, Liam Williams would have a word or two to say about that!

I feel like the win has given English supporters an excuse to display their sour grapes.
Whilst there's no way anyone can knock England off their perch as the team all opponents love to hate the most, South Africa have been putting in a concerted and consistent effort to do just that. It's ultimately futile but I do applaud your effort.
