England vs Japan - 12/11/22

Just switched over to the Gloucester game to see Singleton throw a 5m lineout to the opposition lol

Thought he's been OK. A couple of errors, a couple of telling contributions. Nothing having an IC outside him wouldn't put right...
Maybe confidence is the wrong word. He just looks like he's forcing things too much when he wouldnt ar Quins..and hes not yet got to grips with the tactics or something at this level...

It's hard to compare to last week overall, the England power game was always going to trouble Japan more than Arg.

He's definitely trying to make things happen when it's not always turned out to be a good decision, but I'd rather see a fly half taking a few risks. Having just watched Lawrence against Tigers at 12, I reckon Smith would be much better served with a (very talented) ball-carrying lump outside him.

For the record, Lawrence has fantastic feet and considerable ball skills too.

Why the kick I get it led to a positive outcome but hasn't more often than not Eng we're not struggling to go forward at any point in that phase.

God no don't give Farrell confidence at kicking we want to discourage it.

Still brilliant kick wish he'd only do it in situations like that.
