England vs Canada - 10/07/21

You've never needed a schedule before? ;)

Maybe ask 'Don't Skip Leg Day'. He rarely skips a moan.

Really excited to see Radwan and Kelly out there,

Honestly a bit sickened at BC dropping out with Ludlow retaining his spot, and he if he didn't drop out then Underhill should have (what do we have to learn from Underhill getting another game? Same with Slade starting over Marchant)

I love a good moan about Jones. If I focus on rugby moans it makes my very stressful job seem a little better.

I'm just waiting for Jones to see the lions score last night and decide a 7:1 bench split is the best way to beat a South African team .

Well, a happy Falcon once again. Im particularly happy to see Chick on the bench still...so he can maybe show a bit more ball in hand.

Harry Wells will make a difference i think...big solid unit who does the nitty gritty well.
Just need Blamire to make sure his throws are spot on.

Not sure why Ludlow is still there though...should have been Ludlum...

KELLLLLLLLLLLY team of the season IMO ;)

I like the backline don't really see the point of Slade but I guess Randall, Smith, Kelly, Radwan and Steward might need that bit of experience?
Forwards really are meh.
Why Ludlow?

Yes. Same here.

Happy to see Dombrandt, Radwan and Kelly. Less so Ludlow and Slade.

You'll be surprised to know I quite liked this weeks team. Nothing too much to moan about apart from Ludlow.

I'm sure one day we will have a team no one can moan about. Imagine 15 players all playing in their correct positions and a proper bench that covers all positions. Imagine using in form players mixed with experience and no average out of form players. We can all dream.

Mixed bag again. Great to see Dombrandt, Radwan and Kelly.

Marchant should be starting over Slade, especially considering how Canada performed against Wales. Bench would have been more than enough if things went pear shaped Ludlow as captain still over Curry is a ****-take. Furbank I guess is a bit of utility cover after last week, but still a waste really as well.

Slade I think is purely there for a bit of experience - not the worst thing in the world
Yeah, I've no major qualms about it in that regard

Though I do question how much international experience will come into play vs a semi-pro side - especially as EJ is happy enough to play an uncapped(/single capped) player as captain
Plus, while it's a young backline, there's still plenty of experience in there - Marcus Smith over 100 pro caps, for example

Lots to like. Backs, Dombrandt etc.

Confused on the lock situation. Is Ted Hill injured? I'm not enthused at the prospect of him in the row, but feels he'd be better cover than Chick.

I imagine that it's Dombrandt covering lock rather than Chick. Who Hill is still better lock cover than.

I know where you're coming from but I guess the World Cup is just around the corner and realistically, especially for such a competitive country like England, you're only ever going to see 2 or 3 players break through from nowhere in that time, if that. So players like Slade (who are definitely going to be in the WC squad injury permitting) might benefit more from playing and Eddie might prefer to have a look at other areas.

You're right though coz these are the games, no disrespect to Canada, that you can afford to blood a lot of new talent and see how they do but Eddie will be getting an idea of what's what in training. I guess England are in a different position as they could, depending how Eddie plays it, be going through a bit of a transition leading up to the WC and if that is the case you want to give as much game time to promising young talent as you can.

I guess it comes down to whether you think England need a mass rebuild or just a few tweaks.
