England v South Africa

About that RWC final try... are you in touch when you cross the line in the air with your foot or does your foot actually has to hit the ground?

I'm wearing my Springbok RWC 2007 shirt. Hopefully it helps

your foot actually has to touch the ground. If you are in touch but none of your body or the ball is touching the ground then you have not gone out. The flag no longer counts as touch either so you can touch the flag without being in touch.

As above, it has to touch the ground,
I think the TMO ruled that Cuetos foot grazed the line as he lifted it off the floor, so in 99.99999% of shots his foots not on the ground, but the 1frame is all that counts :(

Thanks. I was a bit in the dark about the full extend of this rule. It's a bit confusing since the whole line-rule is different from football.

In football the line is part of the field and on the line counts as 'in field'
In rugby the line is part of the outside and the line outs as 'out of bounds'

In football the ball is out of the field whether or not it touches the ground or not
In rugby the ball actually has to touch the ground to be determined in or out

I've never understood why the ball is considered dead if it goes over the line in football, before it touches the ground
I like that it doesn't, in rugby, because it allows things like this to happen (watch from 1min in: )

It's your flashplayer. I can see the video. We got underway. 3-0 for England after a penalty. Watching with a stream with my laptop connected to the tv. Crap quality but still nice haha

That should have been a try!!! MAN!!! That was a disapointment. Hopefully a good line out now...

Hendre Fourie coming on the field now. 14 English, 15 South Africans and 1 Zimbabwean on the field now haha
