England v Scotland

Agree with the comments above, I think it all depends on who starts well... Scotland will be hurting after no wins in 6 Nations and would love nothing better to derail the English season.

England have brought Croft and Lawes into the training squad ahead of this weekends game:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/9416616.stm

I reckon one or both could feature on the bench
Would be a kick in the ***s for Saints though, losing Lawes and Leeds gaining Fourie ahead of this weekends game...

Team not named until Friday (I presume to monitor Floods ankle, and see how Lawes/Croft go in training)

the way things are going, Saints won't beat Leeds, Lawes or no Lawes. Considering the only person who's being considered at centre other than the incumbants is HMS Banahan, let's hope for the team that started vs Italy, with a bench of:

16. Thompson
17. Wilson
18. Lawes
19. Croft
20. Care
21. Wilkinson
22. Simpson-Daniel (wishful thinking)

So, from an oppositions perspective it would be okay to say that it would good if 'HMS Banahan' were in the English starting line-up?

Bah, it doesn't matter, whoever is put in, we shall run circles* around them BY

*Don't know why the expression isn't 'run in circles etc...'

I'm reading a lot of stuff on websites like: "If England don't put 20+ points on Scotland, It'll be like a loss the way Scotland have been playing..."
WTF? I think this games gonna be much like the France game: close and gritty. Scotland aren't a team to take lightly against England. They'll play their hearts out. They'll be dying for any win, let alone a Slam-buster against England. It would probably trump beating Australia or SA for them. Lest we forget they beat Argetina, Ireland SA and Australia! Yes, they have had a poor championship so far and I expect England to win, especially since it's at Twickers, but It's gonna be a bloody hard game. I just hope England put an early score on (a weak point of Scotland recently) which disheartens the Scots so that they put their heads down and we can start pulling away from them.

Roll on Sunday, because it's gonna be a cracker :D

Good to see Flood back in training today looking through the training pics. Was beginning to wonder if Wilko would get a start.

Anyone know who's got the dodgy 'red stars' hair cut. Is that Marler?

I think we will be unchanged apart for Corbs in for Sheridan

Bench:
16. Thompson
17. Doran-Jones
18. Lawes
19. Croft
20. Care
21. Wilko/Flood
22. Banahan

I will take any win and I will take it happily.

For most of these boys this is the first time in an England shirt that they can sniff silverware and the match is one they should and must win. And facing them is a bunch of fired up Scots with absolutely zero to lose. Thats immense pressure and they will not handle it prettily. Providing they can steer that ship to safety and get the win, I will be happy.

Very Happy to see Marler there, despite the lesbian hair.

Is Wilson still injured?
If so I reckon Doran-Jones will start at tighthead with Corbisiero on the bench (because he can play both sides)

If not I reckon Corbs starting, Wilson bench

well i think (and hope) england will squeeze past, its no secret the scots (and everybody else) love to beat england. so i think it'll be a tough physical "in yer face" performance from the scots and england are really going to have to prove they have improved and learnt there lessons. they cant underestimate them, they must go out run the show and be mature and clinical from the off. theres no reason why they shouldn't, the majority of the team are good enough.

Doran-Jones can play both sides so I think he will take the bench place up for grabs

Ah right, thought he was just a loose-head
Start Corbisiero over him then - has looked good so far, and will only get better the more game time he gets

Just realised I've gotten the positions mixed up
I, of course, meant Loosie for Corbisiero/PDJ,
Cole is a necessity at 3!

Scottish team to face England: http://plixi.com/p/82713041

Ansbro, Danielli, Lawson and Hines all in.

Robinson will come under a lot of criticism for these selections if there is not a marked improvement, mainly because keeping Jackson at 10 is a gamble after his poor performance against Ireland. I'd say Scotland need a controller, and I doubt Paterson can do that from full-back.
