England v New Zealand - 2 November 2024

Aaaargh we messed up the pass for the DG. Didn't manage that phase well at all.

Great game though and some good signs for both teams!

Thats on steve, **** poor game management with choice of subs and when.

Beaten by this nz team in the summer, who then stank up the rest of their summer and then cant even put them away now. Where is the progression coming from if you cant even beat THIS nz team that is that sloppy

England looking toothless in attack and leaving gaping holes in defence. We were kept in by new Zealands awful discipline.

Not seeing any improvement under borthwick, nor do I think we ever will of we keep churning through assistant coaches.

So initial thoughts. Neither side is beating France, S.A or Ireland playing like that. It was a close game, but so many mistakes from both sides made it a close game, not necessarily the quality of the play.

England still don't look like they can regularly score from open play. While it needed a good bit of off-loading, our only try came from an intercept. Even at the end against 14 we didn't actually trust our attack enough to try and score. I don't think they even considered going for the try. For me this game was key to see if we'd made any progress since the summer and it's a no. Maybe if we beat the Boks, but playing like that we won't.

It did though.
Both were the same player.

Or are you saying it should be red for being 2 yellows in the same passage of play? Which is... certainly something.

Or that England should have the choice of yellow for #22 or yellow+review for #22? Which would be utterly bizarre.q

NB, we were also given choice of position on the pitch from where to take the kick.
My bad, didn't realise it was the same player.

It's depressing that this team could be so good, yet looked lost with ball in hand. Once we get a lead our first thought is just to kick it.

At the end, just rubbish. Panicking having no idea what they're doing. Randall went right and Ford went left so all front ball went.

At the end, no thought to try and score a try and do something different. It was all about the DG. Which is coming from the coaching seeing as we did it in the first half too

SB still seems to be stuck between 2 stools.
Pragmatic and more attacking.
It means we cannot manage a game, but neither have the skills to attack with good impact.
The ABs manage the game by taking the game to the opponents, we need to decide position or possession.

As is normally the case assistants look like downgrades, now our already struggling attack coach has more responsibilities that arent related to attack. No squad evolution, same result, same issues. NZ did everything they could to gift us that game and still couldnt get it done. NZ that lost to SA, argentina almost lost to australia… jheeze
