England tour of Argentina

Difficult to call what's going to happen selection wise, especially at 10-12 and in the back row. I expect we'll see rotation there.

A little detail but 5 wingers and 3 fly halves yet only 2 scrum halves? Seems a very weird balance, especially when 9 is an area that we need to expand our options for much more than wing. Would happily drop Yarde for Robson.

Same goes for having 6 flankers yet 3 locks and 2 hookers. Considering 2 and 9 are arguably the 2 most specialist positions in a team, to have 2 of each while wing and flanker, which are possibly the least specialist positions, are boasting 5/6 options each, I really question the layout of this squad.

Not sure why some of those players are unavailable for selection, where did that come from? Lions guys sure, injured guys sure. However Beaumont played against Baabaas, so why is he suddenly unavailable unless I've missed his injury?

Why's LCD unavailabe? Thrilled about Devoto and in particular Armand. He more than deserves the call

Just seen this too. Thumbs up from me.

Pleased to see Armand and Wilson replace Haskell and Wood and pleased to see Underhill, Lozowski, Ben Curry, Maunder and Cokanasiga are likely to recover from their injuries.

Devoto replacing Marchant is a sensible one but I'm surprised Schonert got the nod over Ford-Robinson.

Anyone know what happened to Cowan-Dickie? Tough break for him, but Taylor is a good replacement.

I feel a bit sorry for Haley. I'd rather him than Yarde given we already have some decent wingers going.

Expected XV from this squad:
1. Genge
2. Hartley (c)
3. Williams (This is what I'm hoping for but could just as easily go to Collier)
4. Launchbury
5. Ewels
6. Robshaw
7. Underhill (Despite Curry clearly outplaying him, Jones has had a ton of praise for Underhill and I imagine he'll persist with him)
8. Hughes
9. Care
10. Ford
11. May
12. Slade
13. James
14. Earle
15. Brown

Bench:

Assuming 5/3
16. Taylor
17. Mullan
18. Collier
19. Isiekwe
20. Curry, Tom
21. Maunder
22. Lozowski
23. Mallinder (Could go to any of Yarde, Solomona, Cokanasiga or even Devoto though)

Assuming 6/2
16. Taylor
17. Mullan
18. Collier
19. Isiekwe
20. Curry, Tom
21. Armand/Wilson (Hoping Armand)
22. Maunder
23. Lozowski

Disappointed at no Haley
Beaumont failed a HIA in the Barbarians game, from I gather.
Very happy for Taylor

Completely forgot Piers Francis existed. How's it worked with his super rugby commitments? Was he in the training camps the previous few weeks? What would be the point in flying him to Argentina to link up with a side he's not trained with and is reasonably unlikely to play for.

I know what you mean but I imagine any exposure is good exposure for a player aspiring to be in the EPS.

So any idea what the Argies side is going to be? Are we facing a depleted side or a proper international team?

Pfft call yourself arrogant!

We're 15-4-1 against Argentina, last loss was 8 years ago
Sod their recent improvements, I expect us to win both tests.

People were worried about the Barbarians game and we handled them easily with our D/E/F team

Typical arrogant Sale fan.

Well at least with Harrison we have a solid game plan to go uncontested scrums..

They got nilled at home by France, lost to Wales, Scotland and England in the autumn

Maybe they only look improved (but still consistently lose) in the tri nations cause they're the only team that know what tackling and set pieces are.

If the Jags had been good this year I'd say it's a really tough side, but even the Australian franchises have been knocking them around. Should be a strong team but most of the Argentinians are all over the place right now.

Argentina in Argentina against a young English team they will be 1000% up for this.

Would be big for them in terms of support if they get the win.

I really see them whitewashing us.
