Yep he will have fun. We are very poor at the breakdown as we always seem to slow to support players and actually smash people off the ball.
We weren't bad against Warburton though earlier in the year.

Launchbury and Youngs will make a big impact to our breakdown workrate.

What an incredible team that would be over the ball.

As an aside, why has no-one taught Robshaw to jump yet? That alone (well, almost) is why we're deprived of a decent six in favour of Wood, Haskell and the continued presence of Clark. He's a bit shorter than Wood, true, but not by much and weighs the same if not less. It's not one of the talents that you're born with, it's eminently teachable- so why not?

He can - he's pretty good at it. Not Wood good, and Lancaster clearly wants someone who's Wood/Croft good in there as well, but he takes his share.

Pretty debatable whether we've got a better six than Wood or Haskell tbh and very debatable if you asked the same question a year ago. We've got some guys outperforming them at the domestic level, which doesn't always translate or last, but no definite answer.

Other than a fit Tom Croft ^_^

A 7 shouldn't really be jumping because they should be the one at the 1st phase of the next play. That's partly because they are usually the fastest forward player.

Apparently Jamie George is really impressing the coaches with his fitness, application etc- there is every chance he could be the starting hooker with Youngs remaining on the bench, his throwing is in another league and is probably better than Hartley. Youngs, Vunipola and Brookes are a fearsome trio to bring off the bench.

the 1980's called they want their flankers back on loan.

I mean after that turn of speed in the Prem Final, anything is possible.

All good answers that now make it seem obvious :D
I was aware that Robshaw does jump, I was just thinking back to the 6Ns, where quite a few flew over his head (when he was jumping, for all those funny people)- though that was probably symptomatic of a not great lineout, and the tail's always harder. I should have said jump to Wood's standard, sorry for the confusion.
Part two of the apology... :) : I wasn't particularly knocking Wood or Haskell, or Croft, just thinking about how our back row has always been quite devoid of carriers other than at number eight (in fact, I can think of a game against Wales when even the no. 8...), and they're obviously not the most effective in that area, which in part has been due to the quest for the perfect lineout technician- I exaggerate only slightly.

Am I the only one who thinks that, with two good jumpers in the second row, a top jumping 6 is a fairly minor asset, not absolutely essential?

yep.

you need three good jumping options, i can't think of a team that doesn't run 2,4 and 6 jumpers (or there about).
