Well I think it was more the 12/13 having a 15 metre gap so the inside man nearly always gets the blame, then really Ashton was ****ed as he was running backwards with 3 guys on the outside and no one would have had a chance.
I know that Eastmond is small but at the end of the day I can't think of why we shouldn't try him ? Eastmond is a brilliant distributer, great runner and if we can't generate front foot ball( though a small change of running on to the ball) than you need players he can make something from nothing.

Screw Armitage, I just wanted everyone to marvel at how skilful, classy and good looking Kvesic is. Would have homoromantic moments with.

I know everyone has webbed feet, and more fingers than they're supposed to, in Gloucester but is Kvesic really considered good looking down that way?

Suppose he played for wuss that will make him exotic in glous I guess.

I find it funny how the same people who think armitage should be brought in as it is a silly rule also think that sarries should heavily punished if they break the salary cap yet I bet sarries think it is a silly rule.

What about if Armitage was available for the Baa Baa's game ? Is it alright to call up journey men for non cap matches ? I heard mixed reviews about him last year against South Africa for the World XV team.

Say he was included and Robshaw was moved to 6 would that be seen as the captain ain't the main man anymore ? Bit like when Borthwick kept getting subbed as captain ?

Nathan Hughes confirmed in TRP he is looking to qualify for England in 2016 and won't play for Fiji in the World Cup.

It's not even like 8 is a problem position for us.

Sure Hughes is good, but by the time he's qualified Binny and Benny will have been in/around the England squad for a fair few years, be proper bedded in (not that they aren't now - they're both very important to the way our pack functions).
and then in the background you've got young guys like Evans and Beaumont - and Mark Wilson is tearing up trees for Falcons.

He'd be far better off playing for the county of his birth, and the country he's captained in the past.
But then I guess our match fees and bonuses are much larger than Fiji's....

I can understand players like Tuilagi, the Vunipolas and Faletau playing for the countries they do, and feeling sufficiently patriotic - they were raised there, schooled there, all their rugby education was there. The exact opposite of Hughes.

Tbh, I wouldn't want to swear to the patriotism of Manu or the Vunipolas (Mako still has a bit of a Welsh accent ffs). I don't know them, so I don't want to speculate when it is possible, but I reckon if the Pacific Islands offered the same chances in international rugby than England does, we wouldn't have got all of them.

Still, Hughes is definitely no patriot, and is slightly coals to Newcastle. I am disappointed, it's the wrong call for the game, but hard to blame him. It terms of finances and prestige, it is a smarter career move.

Manu would of stayed with England IMO came over with his brothers has played through all the age groups.

If this was to happen they wouldn't really need to switch Robbo . Just make Steffon play blindside it would have little to no affect on how he is able to Jackal and he's a very good tackler anyway ....

grrr I wish the papers would just leave Armitage alone, I have enough faith left in Lancaster to suggest he won't be considered for England.

Was just watching a NZ try compilation for the last couple of seasons, and it's truly impressive how many assists Read makes with some slick passes-

5 points if you spot the Luther Burrell windmill impression (hint 6:20)

Thinking about it, I wouldn't mind a Ewers/Kvesic/Clifford backrow for the Baabaas (with Itoje on bench or lock), I think that would have a pretty good balance to it as Clifford is a good lineout option and they are all good ball carriers and Jackalers

Although ATM I don't like It in terms of what it would mean. imagine a back row of:

6) Vunipola
7) Armitage
8) Hughes

Would destroy most teams

From what I saw of the Glouc match on Friday, it seems May is in some good form atm- his catching/high ball skills seem to have improved to quite a high standard. I'm still not sure about his defence or decision making on the ball, but I'd be inclined to say he's a more natural winger than Watson is.
Also, does anyone have an opinion on Lewington? He seems to have a pretty well rounded game (pace+power)- I wonder if he''ll get a look in over the summer. The wing stock are very full of young players with real potential atm:
Wade, Nowell, May, Lewington, Yarde, Watson
who has the highest ceiling and who will make the step up to Int level?
For me, Wade and May are the most naturally gifted wings in terms of outright try-scoring ability and pace, however Nowell/Lewington/Roko probably inspire the most confidence in defence.

It keep getting said, but it is true imo, England are on track to peak in 2,3 or 4 years time by the looks of things.

Nowell is imo our best winger currently, Watson I see as having more of a future at 15. Not sure Yarde or May will ever convince me, Lexington looks like he has good potential though. For me, I'd like to see Roko and Nowell starting as long as Roko continues his form over the last couple of matches, as they're probably our best 2. That leaves Watson free to go at 23, and if we have Farrell at 22 you can cover all backline positions reasonably well (Nowell covers 13, Watson 11/14/15 and Farrell 10/12).

Tom Arscott/Will Addison 4 England <3
