England 6N 2016 - General Chit Chat

Remember reading that Daly isn't a primary kicker due to a knee injury. Was in a tabloid a couple of years ago.

Was certainly true in 11/12, his game time and amount of kicking had to be managed due to it.

Henry Slade is shown as a fly-half on Exeters' squad list.

It will be interesting to see what England do with him when he's fit and joins the squad.
Initially, his injury cover was Sam Hill who is a centre.

Eddie Jones has said he sees Slade and Tuilagi as his 12s

As a newbie to the forum, could someone please explain the method by which new threads are initiated ?
Specifically, when will the England - Wales thread start and why is it left until the preceding week ?
Thanks and good luck to all .

Well young one, what happens is we all gather around a stone circle and ask our great wise leaders to summon a new thread from the Gods. After much chanting and incoherant mumbling, a thread is formed with some topic, although sometimes the incoherant mumbling continues into the thread. Normally a sacrifice is required so if you have a goat or a particularly nice cheese you wouldn't mind losing, that will do. If you aren't so keen on that you can click the green button on the left near the top that says "start new discussion."

This is what one of our writers had to say on the changes EJ has brought to the squad:

"One thing that Jones has introduced to the England camp is a much more relaxed atmosphere. Contrary to Lancaster’s no alcohol policy, Jones encourages it within reason. The players are allowed a celebratory beer or two after the match, and Jones encourages them to socialise with a couple of beers from time to time. As a result the players get to know each other better, not just as rugby players, but as friends and they seem a much happier bunch.

The players are playing with much more freedom yet still with a structure. Jack Nowell’s try against Scotland was a prime example of the heads up rugby that England are now playing. They are not calling set plays every time they get the ball, but instead looking at what is in front of them, seeing the gaps, and scoring tries. England have now scored 9 tries in 3 matches, 4 more than France, Wales and Scotland, 5 more than Italy, and 7 more than Ireland. And although they are far from the attacking southern hemisphere sides that graced the WC, it is definitely a step in the right direction."

I thought we asked, quite nicely, that you keep blog plugs to your blog thread....

I think I need to hop on the blog wagon now.

Maybe one mainly focuses on Tigers and England a blog everyone will truely like.

Prob becuase if it was anything more than a week before the game it would be 40 pages before the game actually starts. Mainly of Wales and English fans arguing about something petty.

Also mods are very lazy. ;)

Something to do with a dispute involving sheep and coal from about 600 years ago most likely.

Sorry! Just copied and pasted a relevant part of the new article. Will just keep it all over there if that's what you prefer.

C'mon I think we can manage that even when thread opens up on Tuesday.

Well Lawes looks likely to be out of the squad.

Who do England go for?

For me Slater, also think barrow has made a good claim.

Although Itojie, Launch and Kruis are the 3 nailed on locks for me.

Lawes isn't a huge loss at the moment... Would be happy enough with Slater.

Thanks very much for the information, I had no idea the process was so esoteric !
Are you permitted to divulge which Gods specifically we are invoking ?
