England 6N 2016 - General Chit Chat

I just hope the banter is good if we lose. Otherwise drinking in Edinburgh after the game won't be too fun.

Unless a couple of back row forwards get hold of the Calcutta Cup and start kicking it around Princes St...

I really have no idea of what to expect from England. February in Edinburgh with a new coach isn't going to be champagne rugby time. Just getting the winning habit back would be just fine by me. But there aren't any guarantees of that.

Isn't it normal for the press to interview players as the tournament approaches? Are you implying that Scottish players have been 'mouthing off' in the press?

No, just the fact that BBC aren't pulling their fingers out and covering all the home nations.

Let's no generalise, it was just their half wit of a full back.

Well Hogg said England didn't respect Scotland and Maitland said Scotland were as good as England. Maitland was more a deluded opinion than mouthing off but Hogg was just being a child.

What has Manu ever said?

Haskell is English.

He inappropriately touched some police officers whilst intoxicated thus being a half wit.

I didn't want to bring up Haskell, way to go destroying my debating skills.

Not sure why you think Maitland was deluded. He was right.

The connotations of "inappropriately touched" imply something vastly different to what he actually did, but in terms of being a bit of an idiot, I don't think anyone can disagree.

How can that be said? It must be about 7 or 8 years since you have tasted victory against us.

Orange, it depends how you look at it.

Well, here's the thing. We come within a whisker of doing Australia's legs and the Anglosphere lights up with indignation at the fact that if we'd hung on we wouldn't have desreved it. Either results matter or they don't. I still think I'd rather pay good money to watch my team get beaten than to watch yours win. That, by the way, has nothing to do with who England is and everything to do with entertainment.

Basing 2 teams rating on one game at a World Cup? You lost all 5 games in the 6 nations last year, whilst England lost out on points on the way to scoring numerous amount of tries.

And obviously you would rather pay to see your own nation play, I think most rational fans would say that.

Not going by Scotland's frankly disgusting approach to the Ireland game on the last day of last years 6N . Also don't wanna burst your bubble but all last year you beat Italy twice, Japan, USA and Samoa (just)

results (plural) do matter, when was the last time you beat a proper Tier 1 nation, when was the last time you did it regular? Sure Scotland did the 'best' out of the 6 nations in RWC but that's really based on one game which they still didn't win.
