Plus, he looks like Doug Howlett. Which aint a bad thing.

Right girls? Riiight? C'mon, you lot like the **** don't ya?

...Sorry.

look like you're on your own their kafta. the blues have amazing depth at loosie and most positions. boric is another that can be aded to the list. naceaw did play at first five in the npc final and did a reasonable job. he is a good player he can cover any position like toeave can. blues should go well top 4 at least.

Surely Radike Samo will be back next year. He's too good to not play Super 14.
I've got him on the bench, so he can play back row or second row if needed.

And in light of a drastic situation... wing.

Hopefully big Dike gets a starting position at either lock or blindside flanker. Don't worry about Daniel 'The Hitman' Heenan, he'll be injured before the season even starts.

I thought it was obvious. According to chiro, he's the best hooker in the world. Now that's saying something, he's squandered a helluva lot of money on them in his time.

...And I should know.

Too many riches, not enough rags. Some of those players should have headed elsewhere so they could start. Last 2 years they've been pretty cack.

use him nut sack..is this ya moronic half ass bay slang

why do u even care?....ur not from auckland

there have been suggestions in the papers a while back since the teams were merged that nucifora was lookin for a captain who leads by example..and not entirely with his mouth

mealamu has been one the most consistant new zealand rugby players interms of his inspiration play and hes good form in the past 2-3 years

whats tipoki done? other than being banned from playing rugby twice for very long side line stints for fights and ill discipline...how much of a inspiration is he?...
tipoki is an awesome player..he is leader by not a captain in todays standard

and look at north harbour..he is proberly the oldest there when the majority are 25yrs younger and thats why he was captain...coz of his experience

mealamu is also very experienced

mealamu has been the saviour to the allblacks on more then one occasion...scoring tries, try saving tackles, line breaking....he rarely speaks he knows his position...and he does his job..give him captaincy and he will do that job too

westauckland > half ass bay

The Chiefs backrow should be awesome and their backline will have a lot of fire power. Why did Mils leave Auckland?
His ***** was caught commiting fraud against the ARU, but the ARU didnt take it to the police, being nice people and all... so Mils go signs with Waikato. IMO we should listien to Apu and "Put that ***** on ice."

Tipoki wasn't even wanted by the Blues (they were practically TOLD to pick him as one of their protected players) - so unlikely for him to be captain (he'd be lucky to make the starting lineup).

Captain is a real problem for the Blues - the only one for me that stands out as a possibility is Angus McDonald.

Angus MacDonald could probably fill the role, he might be able to start at 6, but will have to fight off Troy Flavell (A. Williams and Rawlison probably have the locking roles shored up, and Kaino being injured probably helps his cause). As long as it's not Justin Collins ill be happy.

I still reckon Tipoki should be it, he's been in the form of his life lately.

yeah i want tupoki - hes been in awesome form and nosforatu is a fool for not wanting him. hes a inspiration to harbor, and is not only the real standout when it comes to captancy - but does a bloody good job at it aswell, when compared to other captains around the country. collins is a twat. if nos'ie gets him to captain the blues, this will mean 3 things
1)we will have to find a place for him in the loosies, degrading our quallity that we have at the moment
2)we will have a **** captain
3)tupoki wont be in the starting 15 - or in the team at all. if collins is captain, then the blues are most likely to have a inside back combo of lavea, mcallister and tuituvaki - and possibly necwa in there somewhere too.

Mealamu is not a bad option for captain. He is a seasoned All Black and must have a lot of respect from his team mates. With Whitcombe out of the S14 he is assured of a starting spot and will probably play 80min games unlike last year where Whitecombe got 15 - 20mins regually.

Collins did a fine job captaining Auckland and there would be nothing wrong with a loose trio of Collins - MacDonald - Braid.

1.McDonnel/Schwalger
2.Hore/Luke Mahoney
3.Tialata/Fairbrother

Pretty solid front row. I don't really rate Hore, he only scores tries off taranki's great mauls, anywhere else apart from perhaps Cantabs he'd be average. Schwalger looks very promising and had a good npc.

4.Kennedy/***o/Andrews
5.Eaton

Eaton will have benefited a lot from the AB's and will be a definite starter.I'd pick Ross Kennedy for the other starting spot, he's a former juniour AB and looks promising. ***o and Andrews are adequate aswel.

6.Collins
7.Masoe/Ben Herring
8.So'oialo/Waldrom

Probably the best trio in the 14. Will be the most confrontational in the comp especially at the breakdown.

9.Piri Weepu/Haami
10.Gopperth/Ellison

Weepu's coming along very nicely and is arguably the best halfback in the country. Jimmy's a pointscoring machine and could be destined for higher honours.

12.Umaga/Ellison/Toeava
13.Smith/Nonu

Umaga and Smith and Umaga with Nonu are both proven combo's and all have ab's experience. Ellison may get a run against maybe the southern spears to see what he can do at this level.

11.Gear/Toeava/Nonu
14.Fa'atau

Nonu is devastating on the wing and can beat anyone in the world one on one. Fa'atau's gas adds a bit of contrast on the opposite wing and is one of the quickest in NZ rugby.

15.Paku/Toeava

I think Paku will get the start for most of the season unless Aussie McLean does something about it. I think Paku is probably the 3rd best fullback in the NZ and is a rock on defense.

mealamu is an inspiration to new zealand....

with the competition thats goin midfield...i doubt he will get a full season on the starting team

you got benny atiga, nacewa, mccalister, tipoki and tuitevake and george pisi

ya need a player who can put a stamp on his position and mealamu can do just that...a tireless worker who is always first to the grunt work...

ya need dat type of captain especially in aucklands team becoz of all the flair and running talent ya got..ya need da guy who can settle the team

anyways...up to nucifora...and its highly unlikely he will be captain even if nuc didnt want him to start with

hell yea i'm real excited about our hurricanes team this year, we've got like 11 all blacks, so hopefully they play like their all blacks.
knowing our luck tho, we always get shat on.. remember that awesome back line we had with Jonah, cullen, alatini, fa'atau, umaga.. man that had to be the best backline in world rugby at the time but we couldn't even win a friggin S12!!!

Yes there would be something wrong with that loose forward trio - there is far superior players than Collins in the Blues squad...........
