Wales (The Gatland returns thread)

Really does sound like Gatland is nailed on to stay. It's a bit up in the air whether that will be as head coach or ina DoR capacity so fingers crossed we move him upstairs but I think it's more likely they stick with Gatland and sack most of the other coaches, except for Howley of course.

ROG would be gas in Wales.

"Lads, no one rates you, everyone thinks your ****, go out and prove them wrong"

And then the realisation hits him that he doesn't have multiple world class players and that his shtick doesn't work.

No one in their right mind would touch that stinking heap of 5h1t Wales job with a 10 foot pole
I'm sure you're being hyperbolic and I accept one of the elite coaches like Farrell or whoever are not going to come no matter how much money we offered, but if we did offer Gatland money I'm sure we'd have more than a few takers.

Yeah all jokes a side its sad to see the state of Welsh rugby atm, hopefully they can show some promise in the 6n. Excited for them to be back one day.

I hope we wait out Borthwick, u get ROG then give us back big FAZ. Hopefully you can make it out of a 1/4 final one day.
I'll be interested to see what Faz does after the next world cup. If we remain successful I can't see him leaving the post and if he does I could see him taking Humphreys job, maybe with a more hands on role with the squad. His family are very settled here and his son, by all accounts is excelling in school.

If he's excelling in one of those nice, posh Irish schools think how much he'd excel in a Welsh school. Could be an opening for us.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to League if he feels happy with what he's accomplished in Union

What the **** have you done to deserve this. I hate you as much as any Englisher, but ******* hell

I genuinely see no reason why Faz would go anywhere near the England job given the absolute shambles that would be above him. The RFU have turned what should be the best job in the world into a poisoned chalice. ROG might be different because he'll probably take the first decent international job that comes up just to get his foot in the door so to speak. As much as we have significant problems, there is still enough talent there for a top coach to really get a tune out of this side. We've still beaten Ireland this year and pushed every other top team close despite making some fundamental mistakes in games.

Probably the outcome I expected. Wouldn't be surprised to see Gats moved over to the executive director position after the 6N, although I would have done so immediately.

What absolutely must happen now though is changes to the backroom staff. Humphreys and Howley should definitely go, unsure about Forshaw and King. WRU have indicated that immediate changes are being considered so fingers crossed on that front.

King can most definitely do one.

Best case scenario is we win 1 game and finish 5th. Is that enough to keep him on? Hopefully he'll be moved into Walkers role when that eventuality arises after the 6N

Looking forward to Gats stepping up, and then hopefully cleaning house.

I've defending Gats a LOT the last few years, and most of that remains true, but his decision to reintroduce Howly, and the coaching staff he's put around him has been criminal, and borderline an embarrassment to welsh rugby (luckily for him we embarrass ourselves monthly, so it's fallen through the cracks).

Abi has to go, little miss transparency went full Kim jong un 5 mins later!

Walker leaving won't fix the issues, we need to clean house and get actual professionals in.

I mean look at the mess with super rygbi cymru, the school debacle, women's contracts, men's national team threats, funding issues with the pro teams, the attacks on the culture of the WRU by the media... why does every single person involved with Welsh rugby refuse to join together to work forward, and instead use their ego and tiny power to push us back, literally everyone...

Except Gats obviously.
