A Political Thread pt. 2

MAGA lunatics now making a point of harassing and threatening left wing media, commentators and their families.

USA continues to trudge down the road to dictatorship...

MAGA uses the same harrassment tactics as Scientology, more proof that MAGA is a cult. Not that we had any doubt.

Full state pension it ****, I need to work to pay for things like my house, eating etc.

Lets not forget many people complaining have gold plated work pensions.

One of the changes to women was you didn't qualify if you raised kids, now you do so they complain that whilst they knew the rules when raising a family they can't take advantage todays women can. (forgetting it was perfectly possible to live on one household wage back then).
I dealt with a lot of clients who were earning well over £60k a year and were still claiming child benefit and then getting caught and not declaring it and repaying it on their tax returns. Simples just claim their wife (who was not working) qualifies for it and then not claim to receive it. They then still get the qualifying credit for their state pension. But a lot didn't know this. Hell Even our tax partner forgot and got caught. 😂

Yeh, it's really for those with massive pension pots. 25% tax free at 57. They increased the lifetime allowance under the last govt. to appease the Nhs consultants, who were getting penalised. And now Labour have just included pensions in death estates to balance this out.

But not everyone can afford this.

I see after Trump and Musk completely ****** it yesterday they are now saying its Biden's problem to solve.

Its terrifying but also amusing that the idea of a grands master plan for the next 4 years simply isn't going to materialise.

If I were the democrats, I'd only vote again for the original deal plus extra. They had a deal agreed. This is entirely Trump, Musk and the Republican's fault and they need to beat that drum as hard as possible.
Which normally they are terrible at, Republicans do the blame game much better, largely because they are utterly shameless and lie through their teeth as easily as fish drink water.

It was announced that the pension age would be brought in line in 1993 with the transition happening between 2010 and 2020. The final date was brought forward to 2018 rather than 2020 and then in 2020 the age for both men and women was raised from 65 to 66.

Sorry but if you have a 30 year lead in time with the change phased in over 8 years, claiming you weren't given enough time to prepare is ********.

There have been far bigger impacts on people's earnings with far less time to prepare over that period.

Yeah I agree.

However if my understanding's right, the individuals weren't directly notified of this until 2009 onwards. And that is unforgivable.

I'm all for taking personal responsibility, but I do have a certain degree of sympathy as some will have genuine reasons to feel aggrieved. The State Pension is largely intended to supplement work based pensions, not be the primary source of retirement income, but it remains that way for far too many, particularly older women. The degree of financial literacy in this country is shocking.

And while I'm at it, as far as I'm aware there's no difference in eligibility requirements, so when will the men start arguing that their State Pension should be higher so they get the same value from it given their shorter life expectancy.

Dunno how the regional PM can say they were definitely acting alone within a couple of hours.

Yeah, I was reading what little there is abont this guy and thought this sounds proper odd especially given his field was psychotherapy. Sounded a bit schizophrenic to me. Then saw this guy in Germany and he summed it up well.

Prominent German terrorism expert Peter Neumann said he had yet to come across a suspect in an act of mass violence with that profile.

"After 25 years in this 'business' you think nothing could surprise you anymore. But a 50-year-old Saudi ex-Muslim who lives in East Germany, loves the AfD and wants to punish Germany for its tolerance towards Islamists – that really wasn't on my radar," Neumann, the director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence at King's College London

Perhaps he was trying in some warped way to bolster AFD support. To show the Germans what he thinks is the bad side of refugees.

It might well bolster AFD support but it's a batshit way of doing it. It's a very weird case till his true motives are known.
