Boxing Thread

Maybe that's all some people want in their life. To reach the top, and that would be enough for them.

Oh I imagine that most people would be happy with that, but it is what in separates the Great from the good, it is in this case what sperates a former heavy weight champion to a Heavy weight Legend or even just a Top heavy weight champion.

But if you don't mind that sort of stuff I'm sure plenty would rather retire a champion than retire a beaten champion.

Honestly i would be amazed if he fought someone in the next year TBH.

IMO another year of this will they won't they crap then he will either get his belts removed or retire for good.

If it's true he refused to take a drugs test when asked to with the guy at his door he's screwed anyway that's going to have a hefty ban attached (up to 4 years).

Ummm yes that's the max you can get but this is boxing and it's a strange old game although I think he will never fight again if he was to return in a year or so I think the ban might be bypassed some how

Aren't the bans administered by UKAD not whatever the British Boxing group are called?

Yeah and then someone puts the fight on in Nebraska or something. There are always ways round it

Tired of Fury. Hopefully Eddie Hearn can get the deal done, and we can concentrate on AJ vs WK.

It seems Klitschko-AJ will only happen March/April.

But AJ will still box in December.

So AJ v Klitschko is on if AJ beats Molina next month.

Not sure how I feel about this IF Klitschko comes out hungry I can see him beating AJ currently.

Would be a good fight hoping at Manchester or O2 will def try and get tickets for it.

Hope the AJ Molina fight isnt pay for view because I would love to see the Whyte v Chisora fight on the undercard

So Wladimir must stay put until early next year to fight ?
Doesn't he have another fight lined up ?

No, he's injured. That said the number of big fights that have been promised and then not materialized, I'm not holding my breath. When Klitschko does get in with AJ it will have been on the back of a year and a half without fighting and he'll be 41 years old. Not ideal for the poor guy who got so screwed over by Fury.

Watching Luis Ortiz fight.
If this guy takes on AJ, it'll look like the Calzaghe - Lacy fight.
Ponderous lump is too flattering for the guy.

A lot of you seem to be writing big Klit off against AJ. AJ has fought a bunch of nobodies so far. Klit was undefeated for 10 years... He was in an area he hadn't been in before when he fought Fury because he is usually the bigger man. He got flustered and his game plan went away. AJ offers nothing Klit hasn't defeated already. The only factor now is age, AJ is a lot younger than Klit.
I think Klit could take it easily. It'd be a boring fight like his last 20 fights, but he'd win. AJ vs Parker would be a mismatch because Parker really isn't all that. He's good at KO'ing cab drivers but looked **** in his second last fight.
