Boxing Thread

Eddie Hearn says both Wladimir and Joshua want the fight. That's awesome news. Now it's just a matter of getting it done.
 
Yeah I think Fury going will only be a good thing for the heavyweight division. He wasn't a great champion if we are honest and failing to defend his ***les even once is very poor.
 
Yeah Fury will be no loss to the sport.

Sad to hear of the death of Scottish boxer Mike Towell after his fight last week.
 
Looks like Parker might fight Andy Ruiz Jr for the WBO ***le, especially as it seems that AJ v Klitschko actually might get made (which is very surprising).

Parker vs Ruiz is very interesting. Ruiz is a fat, fat boxer. But you could make an argument that both Parker and Ruiz have the fastest hands in the division. Both aggressive, and neither are giant men, Ruiz is only around 6'2''. Parker would also be the favorite so it's a good opportunity to fight for a ***le and then try and unify down the line.

That's why Ruiz pulled out from the Hugie Fury fight then...it's a good match up as it AJ and Vlad things seem to be moving now Tyson has finally given up the ghost.
 
I don't understand why they would make this fight after being very careful in selecting his opponents so far. He has outclassed everyone he has fought and I do think he will beat Wlad but it just seems very strange to me.

Anyway, it would be a great fight, not the dull one Fury Wlad was/would be again.

It's a no brainer to be honest. It will gross more than another fight this year a big pay day for both fighters

Eddie Hearn says it's about two fights to early for AJ to be fighting Wlad, but they are where they are now. And to be honest, this will be great to watch. Who says no to both fighters wanting the fight ? It will be awesome!

personally i can see AJ getting completely played by Klitschko
 
Self-destruct could be bigger than Gazza

Honestly the only disappointment in this is not being able to watch Anthony Joshua knock his block off. I may have even paid to watch that match.
 
Whilst i'm not a fan of his, he was a character (Good or bad, mainly bad) and he had that media presence that has been lacking in the heavy weights for a while now IMO.

IF he had the determination and discipline to have a Klit rematch it would of been an excellent fight IMO. (I personally don't think AJ would of beaten him necessary if Fury was to fight him with his A game).

But he got what he wanted he was heavyweight champion no one can take that away from him and he just doesn't give a damn about anything else not even getting respect in the boxing community.

Maybe that's all some people want in their life. To reach the top, and that would be enough for them.
