Aviva Premiership 15/16 - Round 1

Not sure we've still got some solid signings who are available (Mckibben,Symons,McClusker and Cruise) and Lewington outwide. I wasn't that annoyed Booth left Hattley was the big loss anyway we've got Sisi back so hope he does well. Underestimate us at your peril

I'm not underestimating you but you are missing your top signings at least for this week.

What squad do you think Irish will put out?

What squad do you think Irish will put out?

This could be the side:
1: Court
2:Cruise
3:palframan
4:Symons
5:Sheriff/Skivs
6: Guest/Sisi
7:Gilsenan
8:Narraway/McClusker
9: Steele/Mackibbin
10:Geraghty/ Noakes
11:Lewington
12:Waldouck
13:Mulchrone
14:Ojo/Fowlie
15: Fenby

Not a bad starting 15 but your right Trev and Cowan will be misses as will Halani. But hopefully Mackibbin is the kicker we've been looking for.

Think ours will be
1) Mulipola
2) Bateman
3) Balmain
4) Fitzgerald
5) Kitchener/De Chaves
6) Croft
7) McCaffrey
8) Pearce
9) Harrison
10) Burns
11) Thompstone
12) Bai
13) Betham
14) Goneva
15) Tait

Bench I think might be
16) Ghilrandini, 17) Brugnara, 18) Pas
19) Williams, 20) Fonua
21) Tresidder/White, 22) Bell, 23) Loamanu/Catchpole maybe even Odogwu.

That's depending on England lads don't know what is happening Cole would be the most likely to feature if poss.

We're missing first and 2nd choice loosehead and first choice tighthead atm - due back "by the Saracens game" but that was said a few weeks ago, with no update since.
I think we'll see:

1. Harrison (/Lewis-Roberts/Parker)
2. Taylor
3. Mujati
4. Evans
5. Mills
6. Braid
7. Seymour
8. Beaumont
9. Cusiter
10. Cipriani
11. Arscott
12. Tuitupou
13. Jennings
14. Addison
15. Haley

Briggs, Lewis-Roberts(/Parker), Cobilas(/????), Ostrikov, Lund, Stringer, Macleod, Brady

Surely Tait at 13, Betham to wing and Thomstone to fb would be preferable?
I think Nothampton could get a jump start on everyone at the start of the season.

That's been the case the last 3 preseason games on the trot.

He has done well scored 13 tries in those 3 games all 3 games finished with 30 points +. 8 from the backs.

On paper been our most successful preseason in a long time in terms of points scored.

He isn't a 13 in the long run but its been alright. Adds sped to go with Bai's more directive nature.

Boy could we do with getting a flyer out of the blocks and winning on Friday.

6 Jacob Rowan, 7 Matt Kvesic, .

Well that should ensure some genuine turnover ball! We going to have to be strong in those areas.

Surprised to see May and Morgan on the bench!

With twelve-***s-for-hands at 10, though, Gloucester could get marmalised.

You don't realise how much player movement has gone on until you see the sides all written down.
Really didn't expect the England lot to be available this round.

Freddie Burns has been ruled out of action for up to eight weeks after sustaining a broken jaw against Sale Sharks in the Kings of the North tournament.

However, the good news for us is that Owen Williams is fit again.

Come on Tigers !

Surprised, and a little disappointed, to see Beaumont at 8. Straight shoot vs Itoje though :D
Would've also guessed that Fihaki would be ahead of Easter after a great pre-season, but I'm a fan of Easter so no biggie.
Good to see Harrison and Vadim back from injury, too. Lewis-Roberts is still a few weeks off, though, apparently.

Very excited to see how that backline goes - Sam James is VERY highly rated around the north west, so hopefully he takes his chance.

Sa(la)rries side:

15 Alex Goode (184)
14 Chris Ashton (77)
13 Tim Streather (24)
12 Duncan Taylor (69)

So Ford and Watson start, JJ doesn't (which means Bananaman at 13, Christ...) and Burgess on the bench in a forward's shirt. Really excited about seeing Matawalu off the bench combining with Ford.

Very confused about Wiilson though ... overlooked entirely by England, now not even starting for Bath? What's going on there?

Also, anyone know if Devoto's injured, or simply not selected?

How is saints wuss on tv and not Quins wasps?

Dunno, odd choice that. Also, is there no Sunday game on BT?
