SCOTLAND! i might be abit bias... but with the players coming through and curretly in stock i think they are starting to become a very decent team witht eh right selections... comment who you think should play and where and what you think scotlands future will be like ... not expecting many replies but its something tha5t intrests me :)

Your use of capital letters is like Scotland's try scoring record, use them in one short burst and then no more for the rest of the year ;)

No, on paper they are the worst team in the 6N. Italy have a better side individually. Whilst they continue to pick Parks they will always compete for the wooden spoon.

It's a shame Visser doesn't qualify earlier. I'd have loved to see him in the six nations. What is the form backrow for Scotland atm?

well with hogg visser wier etc... i think they will be a good team not this six nations but the one after

this Parks hate has gone too far, yes he's not great and I'm not saying he is

but to put it in perspective:

firstly he has had a few moments here and there throughout his career

secondly with Jackson, Scotland nearly had a disaster against Romania, so

thirdly, if he is a MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Luciano Orquera or Riccardo Bocchino

fourthly, scapegoating him means other rubbish players such as De Luca, Morrison and Southwell get away with being continually poor

My main point is that they are ALL poor, Parks makes them worse

troloolol parks wont be playing and their youngsters are really talented

Forget the Parks hate, at least he's better than biggar;) (Sorry everyone, had to be done:p, he's better than Parks at least).

What I think Scotland's team will be:
1. Allan Jacobsen
2. Ross Ford
3. Euan Murray/Moray Low if on sunday
4. Richie Gray
5. Al Kellock
6. Kelly Brown
7. John Barclay/Ross Rennie
8. Richie Vernon
9. Greig Laidlaw
10. Duncan Weir
11. Sean Lamont
12. Graeme Morrison
13. Joe Ansbro
14. Max evans
15. Rory Lamont

16. Scott Lawson
17. Moray Low/Geoff Cross
18. Jim Hamilton
19. John Barclay/Ross Rennie
20. Rory Lawson
21. Ruaridh Jackson
22. Stuart Hogg

God Scotland are bloody useless. And for all this talk of their great youngsters, don't their Under 20's get hammered every year? (I checked - they do)

i agree on forwards but i think andy robinson might want sean lamont in the centres... if so i reckon he will either move rory to 11 and then hogg to 15 or move ansbro ou to 11

The forwards in the last few years couldn't hold the ball if their lives depended on it, lookers on get so excited when they win their own scrum you would swear they just scored 2 tries in 10 seconds. If some new props don't come through, Tony Buckley is going to look like a godsend. Can't bloody believe Pat MacArthur is our best looking prospect at hooker, deary me.

2009 was by far and away the best year of the last 5/6 for the u20s (beat Wales, Italy and Ireland, with a heavy loss to France) with Richie Gray, Chris Fusaro, Stuart McInally, Nick Campell, David Denton, Grant Gilchrist and Rob Harley in that pack, they have all pushed on and bar Nick Campell are regular starters for the pro teams, but again they are all locks and looses :(

Didn't check back very far, did you?

4 years is all. 3rd place is hardly encouraging as a high over that period of time. No offence, but it's hard to look at Scotland challenging for a 6 nations within the next ten years which, when you consider that they've traditionally been roughly comparable to Ireland and Wales, is pretty poor. I'd expect them to get surpassed by Italy sooner or later.

I hardlymade it out to be an epic season, just pointing out that of all the junior players that are currently in the pro team sides ad doing okay for themselves typically played 2009, and that it was the better of all those years, as in the team was not comprehensively beaten in every game.

No offence taken, I know Scotland's place in world rugby atm, but 10 years is a little far forward to make predictions, Danielli McCarter, Richie MacCaw, Fraser McSteyn, Andy McGorgodzine, Billy and Jamie Mac Plessis may just be starting to play in Scotland, who knows? (Not that I think it likely, but yi get where I am going)

I played for my county against some Scottish related team. They got thrashed....badly.

Dave Denton I thought looks a good prospect

If it weren't for the numbers on their backs (and different jerseys right now), I think commentators will easily mistake Denton and Gray, they could be twins if Richie was a little shorter.

I think Scotland are on the way up and their forward pack in particular can compete with any in the world. Remember my fellow supporters that the Scots have gotten SH scalps in the last few years whilst we have not so i wouldn't go on ridiculing the Scots just because we had a good world cup.
I think they can beat England first up and if we lose to Ireland then who knows what can happen then.

I think there's great depth in the forwards, especially the back row much more so than Wales, Ireland or Italy. There's also depth at second row with the lineout being up there with the best in the world. You also have 3/4 international class scrum halves.

The main problem has been getting pace and width into the game. While your forwards and defence can grind out results the backs just can't seem to score tries. It doesn't matter who's at 10 be it Dan Parks, Ruaridh Jackson or Phil Godman Scotland always seem to struggle with basic drawing and passing.
And it's obviously not in the players nature because we've seen that Edinburgh and Glasgow in particular like to play an expansive game. So like England there must be other issues.

Scotland squad to be announced tomorrow, will be interesting to see who's involved.
I think Fraser McKenzie could be in with an outside shot, he's been playing very well this season for Sale - he's not going to overtake Kellock or Gray or whoever, but would be good to get him involved in the squad/some time vs Italy or whoever.

Yea I was impressed with him in the Leicester game he seems to have the aggression and soft hands that Scotland might want now that Hines has retired.

I don't know, both of them (especially Kellock) need a big kick up the arse, in the few Sale games I have seen McKenzie has performed waaaayyyyyy above the level those two have played this season.

If Kellock was not 'squad' captain at the RWC, I wouldn't think he would be near the side. Now if Robinson is looking to play a meany, I would think Sean Cox would be involved.
