ACT Brumbies v British and Irish Lions (18/06/13)

Maybe there's some bias at work here, but Best is not responsible for a call with no movement and an obvious target that allows the Brumbies to get a man in front of Gray at the same time - no delay, same time - and as a jumper, I don't hold hookers entirely responsible for that. That's the caller's fault, and its really stupid. Next lineout, they employ some movement, and lo and behold it works. But then, one phase later there's only one man at the ruck and we get turned over.

Scapegoating Best in these circumstances is unjust and obscures a number of other very bad performances.

Sorry didn't mean to single Best as he isn't alone.
Gray beaten 3 times in air and Lions are lacking physicality

Whilst that may be somewhat true Peat. The ball is arriving at Gray at chest hight, get the timing right and the throw to Gray's outstretched 6'10" hands and they should be able to win front of the lineout ball. Difficult to blame anyone but Best for the not straights.

I agree. People often compare throwing as a skill to goalkicking, which is a terrible comparison. Some throws have been very poor by Best but the whole lineout is malfunctioning and continuing with stuff like slow movement and calling long is not going to fix it.

Just show why POC is vital for tests. Argubally the best in the world calling the lineout and not bad either fetching darts

No, those are his, and it is his big weakness that when things are going poorly he lets them get to it. The throw to Gray could have been better as well - but -they are also far from his own fault. And then there's everything else.

Very poor match, number of these look like they shouldn't have been on the tour. Including Best.

Arg, that was an opportunity. Nice offload from Faletau.

Subs are making a big impact.

Wrong decision from Murray there though. None of the forwards were lined up to support, they were all lined up for another carry.

Think I jinxed Murray. After I praise him he's got bit iffy. We just seem to lack killer instinct

Well done Brumbies. Gotta get the heads screwed on now for Saturday.

Faletau and Kearney only ones of the starting 15 to really come out of that with enhanced reputations.
