End of the day if you can't handle a simple balloon you shouldn't be in politics. (At least a democratic one)
It's okay, Trump doesn't want to be a politician in a democracy. If he did he's put a stop to voter suppression and gerrymandering, and maybe stop his jizz-fest over every dictator who so much as remembers his name

One of the good things about replacing our last President with Trump is that Trump doesn't want to behave like a dictator with unlimited power. He respects the separation of powers and state sovereignty. He prefers to follow the law and only take the power granted to his office. Short of a few very defined situations, it's up to the state governments to govern their own election laws.
In addition to reigning in the powers of the unelected bureaucracy in DC, he's also hopefully going to reign in our courts with his new picks. Important issues like abortion and gay marriage will hopefully be opened back up to democracy. The Democrats in our country like to remove as many issues as possible from the more accountable democratic parts of our government into the less accountable federal courts and permanent bureaucracy. I suppose that's just the conservative preference for a legitimate process vs. the leftist preference for getting their way by any means possible that exists across the West.
The USA is becoming more small "d" democratic under Trump, but that shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone who paid attention to the prior 8 years.
Small d certainly comes to mind when i think of america currently.....

As funny as it is seeing the Tories crumble, there's a very real chance we could end up with BoJo as prime minister, pushing through the hardest brexit possible while bending over for trump
BoJo tried to get an audience with trump when he went to America but couldn't so went onto his favourite fox show to appeal to him instead, knowing he'd be watching. Embarassing.

Well goodbye to DD and Bojo. Brexiteers thinking that 52% gives them right to force through their hard Brexit agenda. It’s cloud Cuckoo land they live in thinking UK can have their cake and eat it without any compromise. Tories will tear themselves apart over Europe because the hard right refuse to compromise over it and still live in pre 1945 Britain.
The worry is though come a GE who the hell do people trust to deal with this?

The reality is the 48% have absolutely no leadership at the moment due to fear of the tabloid press, extremists within the tory party and a Labour leadership that is actually pro Brexit. Its a bloody shambles and today's events I think make a no deal Brexit even more likely. Brexit is now firmly a ideological movement that has very little basis in reality during and before the referendum we were told Norway-like models were the way to go but now it must b the utter extreme with absolutely no involevemtn in the customs union or single market whatsoever even if we do end freedom of movement and lawmaking (which would of been a hard sell to Europe but hey May is trying to go for a reality that doesn't **** us).
I'd like the Lib Dems to step up but we are still recovering from blame of letting the Tories in, and Corbyn's messiahood we can't recover enough in a Ge. Its all just a bit pants really and the only hope is a Labour leader that actually want to oppose Brexit. Which isn't going to happen in the near future.

It's funny how momentum is so Pro Corbyn despite him being very much a brexit guy.
Like the two have massive differing views on it BUT they still support him regardless despite it being THE biggest issue in british politics in recent memory.

Its Labour supporters in general the delusion is on a mass scale outside the PLP with no evidence to back them up.
The issues with Brexit is that May was a Remainer, yet she had to fill her cabinet with Pro-Brexit toffs. With the potential for an awful deal for UK she has had to soften her stance which has result in the two recent resignations.
With Labour JC was never an EU lover but I do think he would have rather remained and changed it from the inside, of course a lot of his voter base were Remained so he has to juggle that with the referendum vote. Also a lot of Labour voters are pushing for a second vote (which I think is pointless) and so does JC

I think JC would've still pushed for brexit,
It's what he truly wants and part of his appeal is how he sticks to his guns and is passionate about his beliefs.
If he was a remainer I think he'd cruise to PM

The Brexitters are so obsessed with leaving that they would happily leave with no deal just to make a point.
The Remainers are so obsessed with making Brexit appear to be a bad decision they are happy for it all to go wrong just to make that point.
We have a weak divided Government with a weak divided opposition being worked from behind by Momentum.
Its a time for leadership and no one is willing to put their hand up.
If the EU referendum has shown anything its that people in British Politics are not prepared to do whats right for the Greater good and only what right for them as individuals.
I still think leaving the EU could have been a positive thing for the UK (lets not pretend the EU is picture of unity and harmony because its currently very divided) but it did require some good leadership and unity at least in the Government tasked with dealing with it but its failed and to be honest I don't think the political class possess the right caliber of people who could have made this work.
In the end I can see the who thing being called off and we return to the EU as before and the last 2 years have just been a total waste of everyone's time.
