I get why so many people want Corbyn to step down, and I do agree that Labour should be mopping the floor with the tories atm, but he's overwhelmingly been voted in as leader of the Labour party, by labour party members, twice.
He's not going against the party because he's who they want.
Labour members and unions conspire to put Johnson, who they presumably view as the antichrist, into Downing St.

If there's one thing this country's still world class at, its irony.

Brexiteers keeping banging on about how it's the law (EU law which they are happy to abide by when it suits them) that we leave with no deal if one can't be negotiated with the EU before the deadline. The same ones chose May as the person to deliver Brexit and she failed. They've now chosen another leader to deliver it. How many bites at the cherry do they get? There is also an argument that they had their chance and blew it and the default position should be revoke or have another vote now that we know more. It seems wrong that they are clinging on to some text in Article 50 which the author has even since admitted was never designed to actually come into effect.

I still think no deal is just an empty threat by BoJo and the brexiteers. Come 31 October and no deal is their only option there will again be another extension agreed and sought with the EU. What else do they have to bargain with if they don't have no deal?

If he agrees another extension then he'll have gone back on his word of 'Out by 31 October, come what may' and it's just Maybot all over again. He's going to rapidly lose support from his Brexiteer cronies who do actually want No deal.

I think it'll eventually come down to second referendum v GE and he's going to choose the one that he thinks he has the best chance of winning.

That storm was genuinely crazy, not seen one so spectacular since I was about 4yrs old on holiday in France.

Haven't the EU said they'll only extend in the event of a GE?
I imagine Boris will bluster along pretending he's negotiating and then call a GE in a month or two (under the guise of caring that the country should get to vote on who's PM) as a way to avoid the no deal.

And when has Boris not gone back on his word? *Cough* Heathrow 3rd runway, *Cough*.

Henceforth this period in time shall be known as the irony age.
Well it sure isn't the ice age. What's the point of extreme heat without cold beers and a swimming pool?

Just hope her Maj can hold on for a while. Bojo and Charles would be a hell of a team.

Saw a snippet of Ian Hislop talking about Bojo last night. Not complimentary about his old HIGNFY mucker.

Has anyone in previous cabinet not resigned?

I mean most were going to get fired anyway but don't remember this happening when May took over.

I see she's going to stay on as a back-bencher.

I suspect she will, because she's Tory through and through, with the party being far more important to her than the country (and resigning forces a by-election that Lib Dem would be favourites to win)

I don't think previous PM elects announced what their future cabinet would have to sign up to before that person took office. BoJo has already stated that every cabinet member must sign up to leaving without a deal if it came to it. Plus there is an element of saving face as they must know they are toast if they haven't had any contact from BoJo's cronies.

FFS Williamson back in Government, expected as Education Secretary.

Javid, Patel and Raab.

Ugh well trust the Tories to find the two most odious PoC in the country.

Who else for foreign secretary than the man who didn't know how important our primary connection with the rest of the world is!

My worst-case scenario had Patel in that precise job, and was 50:50 between Raab and Francois as foreign sec.

It gets worse. Paedo Postman Pat (PPP) has just walked into No.10 and looks set for a job.
