Well I've got no idea what May's plan is now.
Well, her 2 constants seem to be to A] Kick the can down the road, and hope that brinkmanship brings support; and B] Claim that more democracy is undemorcratic.

May has kicked the can so far down the road she's reached the channel. She now seems to be winding up to give it the most almighty hoof she can before it goes plop in the water.

Labour to forward a motion of no confidence... in May, not the government - which seems like it'll be another humiliation for her, but nothing new, and nothing that would make her act any differently.
It looks to me like playing to the gallery, making it look like he's doing something, whilst not taking the risk of actually rocking the boat.

Elsewhere, Hungary looks to be headed to bad places (just in case electing a far-right government wasn't already).
Far-right government introduces a slave labor law (allowing it, not banning); and people seem both surprised and upset about this, whilst MPs are physically thrown out of media outlets where they're trying to protest, whilst violence is happening on the streets.

Oh look Corbyn's finally thrown down the gauntlet!

What's that?

Oh?

Ohhhhh :(

Waste of time, he either needed to do it before the Tories did it themselves or wait until after the deal is voted down. Only decent theory I've heard is that he's actually trying to keep May in power so that if a general election is forced after the deal is voted down the Tories will still have May in power. However it's a ridiculous game to play and could quite easily backfire if it is that. Otherwise it's a meaningless gesture of party politics and a further example of the ridiculousness of British politics.

Personally I'd I've done (in government not May) it immediately after the vote against May failed. Do it while the coup people are hurting most and most angry. It was probably his best chance.

Waiting for the vote won't happen. Even of May leaves it the last minute her immediate action to it failing has to be to withdraw or delay article 50. A delay requires EU concent but I'd be surprised if they didnt grant it ifnthey don't we just withdraw and start the entire process again.

Actually reading the BBC another idea is it was all a bluff to get May to call a vote on the deal before Christmas and the government have called his bluff and he is unwilling to go further.

Doesn't change my final point that British politics is currently the laughing stock of the world and will continue to be for a good while longer.

Honestly I think they just ****** up the wording.

It's simply stalling tactics to ensure that the mayhem doesn't ensue before the Xmas shutdown. Her deal will get voted down mid January which removes one option within Parliament. I expect a project fear campaign on the prospect of a No deal Brexit which by way of elimination will propel a people's vote as the way to break the deadlock. I see no issue with the EU extending article 50 to accommodate another referendum. The main question is what will the options be on the ballot paper. If May's deal isn't on the paper then which option would she back? Personally I don't see it not being on the paper as she's hell bent on clinging on to power and as PM she couldn't really back Remain (for democratic reasons) or a no deal scenario due to the chaos. Politicians should be free to back whichever option they like as they did in the first one. Could the intellectually challenged handle a preferential voting system with three options?

Corbyn is an idiot and it amazes me how many Labour party members can't see it. I also think that he may well have messed up the wording and said 'PM' instead of 'Government'. Looks like Starmer is the brains of the operation.

Even if he did call her a stupid woman (and I really don't care enough about the situation to look it up) he's not exactly wrong.

This is just the perfect excuse for the Tories and their papers to distract from this non-vote mess

I'm afraid it's a world gone mad in a politically incorrect sense. I overheard a woman referring to someone as a 'horrid man' this morning. Was she suggesting all men are horrid in a prejudicial sense in the same way as is being implied with Corbyn. No. It's just bonkers.

Is Teresa May stupid? Yes

Is Teresa May a woman? Yes

So she is a stupid woman then. As much as I don't like Corbyn he is correct.

Media and Tories making a mountain out of a f'ing mole hill.

Saw the video and I'm no expert mouth reader but it did look like he said stupid people rather than woman.

Either way it is true, May doing her usual pathetic posturing, the Tories behind her laughing away like a pack of hyenas and the country slipping further and further into problems as the metaphorical Neros fiddle.

I've seen plenty of women object to it as mysognistic language even staunch Corbyn supporters (although most of them unsurpsingly also come down on the people side). I suppose of you've had the phrase chucked at you, you'd have a different opinion about it. But yeah they see it as part of casual misogyny within our society and sadly if I think about if they are right.

I also made a similar comment to tallshort in stating she is stupid. And the reality is she's not you don't get into Oxford by being in any regard stupid. Pig-headed, arrogant, foolish are all better adjectives to describe May. We only call hernstupidnbecause we disagree with her thats unfair. So it lends credence to stock phrase as part of a culture who allows this.

If he did say that it's no different to when Cameron told a woman in the commons 'calm down dear' although admittedly Cornyn didn't say it as a matter of public record.

Yes Horrid Man is equally a misandric phrase it's used as a stock way of conveying a feeling regardless of the person is genuinely horrid or not.

Like I say I originally came down on the opinion of 'so what' and 'he's only telling the truth'. Got challenged thought about it and decided it wasn't that simple.

Should note everyone agress this is a massive distraction. But also it's not like Cobnyn would do anything effective instead...

First world problems...

Media and Tories making a mountain out of a f'ing mole hill.

All the outrage was really because Jezza 2 Es at A level Corbyn called Theresa Oxford graduate May stupid. How very dare he.

British politics is currently the laughing stock of the world.

Currently in second place to our air traffic system and Sussex police.

First world problems...
Yes and no, I know plenty of women in 'high powered' jobs and all talk about how phrases like this have been used by peers and men above them to belittle their contributions within the workplace. Now regardless of whether this a first world problem or not its pretty much a fact that women despite 'equality' and laws to prevent it are not treated the same as men within the workplace or afforded the same opportunities. so yeah when they object to things like this being said maybe we should actually listen to them instead of dismissing them.
