A Political Thread pt. 2

Been true for a while not just in economics but raw money having dedicated civil servants on the job....

Can't help to think he has a point.
I think he is correct in identifying the morphing of the Republican party to a completely immoral and batshit insane party was started with the Palin fanbase and their adoration of over the to nationalistic idiocy. As has often been said, Trump is the culmination of nearly a decade of sliding into insanity by the Republican party and removing him won't fix that problem. The party is still a cesspit and McConnell has already stated his aim with Biden is simply to obstruct absolutely everything. Just have to hope that the Democrats can correctly point out how unreasonable McConnel is being and lay the blame at his feet, or the Republicans will realise they are still in the game by being as unreasonable as possible.

Call me cynical, but will anything change?
I imagine he'll still be BoJos most trusted advisor, just via phonecall rather than in meeting rooms

Unsure about that sound like some real **** went down this week which has led to all this. Don't think we know the whole story as apparently the PM's girlfriend got involved (and since when has he ever been loyal to someone hes shagging).

Supposely Johnsons does this a lot he has a bunch of advisors that tell him what to do because hes lazy, then his ego takes over because he doesn't want to told what to do so he gets rids of them, then brings in another group of people to tell him what to do.

Some realities is a year into this and he's behind both Labour's leader and the party as whole in the polls. COVID has ducked everyone and Brexit is just around the corner. His legacy (and he does care about) is looking like he utterly shafted the country (whcih he has) and its possible just possible the architects of Brexit (Cummings be a key man) couldn't be kept on because he absolutely needs to salvage a deal with the EU and stop the Internal Markets Bill. He may have also seen what happening in America needs to change face as he no longer has Trump as an ally.

Its always important to remember with Johnson he has absolutely no convictions what so ever and he'll align himself with what ever is best for Johnson and if that means playing nice he'll start playing nice.

Imagine if he just goes back to his original anti-Brexit stance and cancels the whole thing

I imagine there's been a few wakeup calls for the Brexit-boys over the last few months - it's not quite as simple as leaving the EU to add a zero to the old bank balance

The hilarity of Johnson apparently having to fight against his own position which was itself formed from fighting against his own previously held position, which... well you get the picture.

More U-turns that the toilet pipe factory.

Biden finally projected to win Arizona by 11,400 votes and collect their 11 electoral votes.

Cummings now gone today instead of at Christmas. Have we entered a parallel universe?

Cummings Gone
Murphy Gone
Trump Going

Is the "ends" of this week, worth the "means" of the previous 45 weeks of 2020?

Place bets on Johnson being out by Christmas, the Covid vaccine being out and a great success ending 2020 on a high. Maybe have Queenie as the first monarch in space for a bit of humour too.

Georgia and NC called, Trump get bing speech at 9pm UK time....

To finally concede and announce he'll run again in 2024. Let's see:
