3rd TEST: South Africa v Lions

Id go with

Sheridan
Rees
Hayes
Shaw
POC
Wallace
Williams
Heaslip

Phillips
Jones
Roberts (lets hope hes fit)
Bowe (who else!)
Fitzgerald
Williams
Kearney

All the chanes I'd make would be enforced changes except for Ford and Williams.

Only reason I'd put Williams in there is he kinda deserves a run out. Wallace is the more effective option but who cares about the result.

Sheridan
Ford
Hayes
Shaw
POC
Williams
Croft
Heaslip

Phillips
Jones
Flutey
Roberts (D'Arcy if he's not fit)

Fitzgerald
Bowe
Kearney

I'm excited by this final test. It has been an awesome tour despite the loss and recent controversy. I think the Lions have proved that they are still a viable part of rugby. We've already made up for the farce of the NZ Tour.
Anyway, I hope Hayes gets to start.

BBC are reporting that Roberts "is expected to be fit".

Thank fookin christ.

I have a feeling the Boks are gonna put the Lions away by 15-20 points in this game. That's if P Divvy plays along and doesn't choose a weakened side

Yeh, I also see that happening. Roberts being fit could turn out to be a huge plus, though the losses of the props and BOD are pretty disastrous...

Well there's rumours that players like Chilliboy are gonna start this one, why he is there ahead of guys like Kuun & Strauss only P Divvy will know.

It would be really harsh for the Lions to get blown away in this one. I hope they do though :p

That's the spirit - no prisoners!

Roberts and Darse in the centre will still smash the Saffers, and with Kearney and Bowe running angles it could be a watering-hole slaughter for the Lions.

I'm glad Roberts is fit. Whats needed for an epic encounter here is for some players to play above them selves for the Lions, the replacements for O'Driscoll and the props for a start. If someone can inspire them to give it all they've got and to show us all how good they really are, well this is their chance. Those players will need to be reminded that if they exceed expectation and deliver a great performace, then the memories will be of them and how they should've been selected ahead of the guys they are replacing.

In any case I hope they are stirred up to a new level and produce some magic. I've decided that NZ had the only 3-0 whitewash I've heard of against the Lions, so I have another good reason to support them. I know my allegiances have jumped a bit here, but at least I'm calling it before the game each time, lol.

Also, actually hearing a NH supporter (Munster Man) telling me that he respected the AB's and that they were a class side made me feel a whole lot less animosity, lol.

Me thinks Habana will just put him a foot into the ground again ;)

I cant believe that is surprising to you. New Zealand will always be everyones favourite. The only foreign team whos Jersey I own. I've seen them play up here 3 or 4 times now and each time (maybe bar the last one) has been a privilage.

To reiterate, I couldnt give a rats arse if you like the Lions or not, or the Irish for that matter, but while we may squabble amongst ourselves (the fans) we'll always respect the AB's. They are the ferrari or Rugby. Love em or hate em, everyone wants to beat em, but you cant imagine the game without them.

Don't misinterpret NH fans wanting the All Blacks to loose as us not liking them or not respecting them, it's just with a win/loss record like the All Blacks everybody likes to see them lose! The Man United of rugby if you will. :p

Basically, It's been a very long time since an All Black side has ever been an underdog in a game.

Any idea when the teams will be announced? It's normally Tuesday at 12.30 our time, Tomorrow i suppose?

This could be a case of something being such common knowledge that it's generally not said that often at all and when it is I happen to not see those posts. I was away for a long time from this site and have just been on again in the last 3 weeks.

Anyhow, I don't come on here looking to clash with people over this kind of thing, it's something I'd genuinely encountered for a while (predominantly sighting negative comments towards NZ rugby). All it takes is a genuine comment here or there to let me know it's not the case and I've finally heard that. So I don't really have a problem with this now as far as I can see.

Anyhow I'd rather focus on this last test for the series now, I don't think it's a dead rubber at all, the Lions can prove a lot with this game, it's just sad that it could possibly be a side somewhere between an A & B side. I hope they lift further, because that last game was huge.

Don't want to spoil the party, but I reckon the ABs are bottom of the SH pile at the moment. (put an "it" in there and my comment looks a bit snarky!)

Hey I wasn't saying I wanted them to be favoured too much, just respected. I'd be the first to admit that the power in this Tri-Nations will be with the South Africans, the skill will be with the Australians. We'll be requiring the luck. We are woefully in need of a firm reliable hand in leadership, talent which plays well consistently and most of all a decent gameplan. This season will probably finish off Graham Henry.

The Lions really wanted to be touring us this year. I'll say that you guys would've won.

Honestley mate I'm surprised Henry has made it this far as coach, I would have thought he'd be gone after 2007 RWC.

I dont see much of the Super 14 or the 3N but one thing I have noticed is the sheer amount of players used by NZ in games, almost a totally different side played against france than the one that faced Wales, England etc in the fall.

That cant seem good for team momentum not knowing who is going to play, from my perspective the Aussies and the Springboks seem the far settled squads.

Obviously the Kiwis could claim strength in depth but I feel a settled 22 is better than a depth 26 man squad, I'd go for Austraila to take the Tri-Nations mainly because they havn't had to face such a draining series with a top quality and high profile side.

That said I could just be talking utter PDV's (I'm using that turn when referring to BS)

Looks like ;)

Why is Zane Kirchner in the Bok side now? Everywhere it says he impressed in the emerging Boks side. WHAT?!? He is such a **** player. All he does is kick, and in both the Super 14 final, and the Emerging Boks game saw 2 of his kicks DIRECTLY result in opposition tries.

Can't believe it. Am i missing something? >_>
