[2024 Six Nations] Scotland vs France - 10/02/24

Really poor communication from the TMO there. Said he saw a grounding but then backtracked cause it wasn't 100% evidence.
Still think Berry was in a perfect spot to see what happened and he saw it grounded in time he would have given it.

That ball was 100% down, it rolls off the boot, and it clearly shows in contact with the ground for 2/3 frames before the arm blocks it...

Scotland robbed!

Hahahahaahahaha what is the TMO doing??

This is worse than that World Cup call in 2019(?)
To be fair TMO was 100% correct. There was no clear and obvious view to overturn.
He said it looks like it down but has to give a clear and obvious view.
Did we see a clear view. The main view looks like it but still wasn't 100%.
Scotland should have been clear there

That's harsh.
For me, that angle underneath Tuilagi's forearm was proven

There was enough evidence from 2 differing angles...

I get why the call has been made. It was no try on field and you can't conclusively see it touch the turf afterwards.

But that's 100% a try.
I do they literally have to see the blade of grass that touches the ball? I mean that was as clear and obvious as it comes that the ball was on the ground, given the size of the ball it was clearly touching the ground.

No it was crystal clear. Rule states it has to be clear and obvious to overturn.
1. There was no clear picture so TMO can't overturn as he can't say I'm 100% certain. 99.9% is not enough.
2. We don't know when whistle is blown too

Imagine if that was the decision to determine the WC final! Whole process needs reviewing imo inc. the held up over the + on field decision thing.

Okay, I was talking about the TMO's communication not the call.

I think it was grounded at some point, not from the video but I think berry would have seen it on the ground, we just don't know when berry determined that point to be. Berry and the TMO never communicated when that point was so it was just the TMO going rogue.

Show me the clear clear picture of the ball on the grass and over the line. I didn't see it in them pictures.
Show me the clear evidence the ball is over line and on the ground

More rationally, we got away with one with the Duhan offences in the first half, and ultimately I like the approach of ref making a call and then TMO having to overturn.

Once again I thank Wales in 2010 for ensuring I never have hope!
