[2022 Six Nations] France vs England (19/03/22)

England have been seriously Dunkirking our loss to Ireland. Lots of positive spin but let's be honest, in the end we were well beaten and it was our recurring problem of awful discipline that put us in that situation. Other teams have put up as much if not more of a fight against T1 opposition when a man down and it was really Irish sloppiness and favourable scrum calls that kept us in the game at all.

Add to that our continued inability to score tries. Okay you could argue that with a man less to create overlaps we were always going to struggle but we've looked pathetic in the opposition 22 in every game bar Italy.

Meant to say that Jones said the other day that he thinks he gets heavier criticism because he's Australian.

Think he's way off beam there.

100 lines for me….

Don't rise to anything Jones says
Don't rise to anything Jones says
Don't rise to anything Jones says

Yeah, Furbank is a good player at Saints,

But "good club level player" isn't exactly "international starter"
I agree and tbh if your going to give someone else a chance at FB then start Malins there as he is a FB and our second choice. Then give a wing a chance on the wing....and i hope the rumour a read above isnt correct of steward on the wing.

Screw it go,
9 Youngs
10 Furbank
11 Marchant
12 Daly
13 Nowell
14 Steward
15 Slade

Players need to play multiple positions according to EJ so lets get them all some experience at once, sounds like an EJ idea.

Villiere has been the best wing in the tournament, and is quick, aggressive, hard as nails, and works his arse off. I cannot believe Eddie thinks that targeting him will be a game changer somehow, especially with Steward.

Damn strong French team and they are now picking a consistent team. I fear for England.

If we can get our kickchase working like it did vs Ireland (and that's a big if considering it's one game out of 3 years) then we'll make hay there - the high ball is only area of weakness in that France back 3, Wales dominated them there

However what we do after we retain the ball/force a mistake is another matter entirely

France are red hot favorites ! just keep shouting it,tell everyone, let the French know they could win a Grand Slam, make them beleive.
They should cave in under the expectation.

If they don't, it's going to be a long afternoon for England.
Them days are gone m8 only one winner eddy is clueless

Malins has to be binned off, really doesn't offer anything, same with Daly.

I'd rather we didn't continue with the Slade at 1st receiver nonsense or in fact remove Slade entirely (keep Marchant at 13) but there isn't anyone in the squad to replace him.

When we are happy with one part of the team Jones screws with another.

Another wasted 6 nations under Jones.
Eddy is clueless doesn't know his best team

Fml what.

It annoys me even more that it was put out at a stupid time - just compounds my opinion of this as chaotic randomness designed to spite me personally

Jones continuing to shoehorn in his preferred players regardless of if they should play there.

Congratulations to France on their Grand Slam

Considering how well Lawes/Itoje worked with Dombrant at 8 it's seems so odd to not do that again.

Saturday is going to be a long for me, vets game starts at 12, so that makes me a bit sad that I'm going to be too drunk to appreciate England getting smashed..... :p
In all seriousness, even for an Eddie Jones team selection that's a bit bizarre.
