[2022 Six Nations] France vs England (19/03/22)

Good point, I'd forgotten about Cockers - wouldn't be surprised if he had an eye on EJs role post RWC

Still feel like most coaches would be hesitant to jump straight into a RWC - there's obvious mitigation for a poor result, if it were to happen, but the history books won't remember that and the blazers will be happy to stab you in the back to draw a line under it

It took Farrell two 6ns to change Ireland style of play from the highly structured Schmidt era, and that was with complete control of his squad of players. It was only last Summer that they looked like they understood what was expected of them, and they really kicked on during the Autumn. Any new English coach isn't going to have the unlimited access and control that Farrell was given, so an 18 month turnaround would be very tight, but against that Englands pool of talent is much deeper than Irelands. Sometimes in fact I think that an England coach's job is complicated by the options available to him.

I'm not sure that this England team is going anywhere under Jones, so I'm not sure the RFU has a lot to lose by getting rid of him now and giving a new manager a summer tour, a 6ns and a full summer camp, to prepare for the WC. It's a challenge for whoever comes in, but I think it's no more of a risk than letting Jones continue to blunder along, much as I'm enjoying the spectacle as an Irish fan

Good morning. What a lovely day for a game or rugby isnt it.

*no idea what the weather is like in Paris
It's a perfect, sunny, Spring day with a warm breeze in Paris, the ball is gonna fly from hands to hands and not up and under...

I don't want Eddie out, but if the RFU took that route before RWC, what about John Mitchell as an interim? If we're talking post RWC, I'd go for Edwards. He'd want to bring in his own coaching team and he could double up as defence coach.

Edwards will be the hot candidate for every job after the World Cup but I don't Think switching jobs a year out from the World Cup would be wise.

Come on its on

Italy Scotland England winning today, a day of underdogs :)

Wales decided they can out do England even in the being **** steaks.
