It would be fantastic to discuss the actual game of rugby but it is slowly being ruined by consistently bad refereeing. It got to the stage a couple of years back when the refs weren't even competent to award trys and it seemed a majority of potential groundings went straight to the video room even when the ref had the best view and it was irrefutable.**** me guys, this place is getting as bad as Reddit for petty squabbling. Anyone want to actually discuss the game?
Kinda missing the point but I can't be arsed to go over it again.I would say if he is on the wrong side and not getting punished then he is doing his job very well. And that the people to blame are the referees. In fact all the things you mention are reasons to dislike the referees and not Wales.
Let's not bring this up again ffs Nigel clearly represented his view initially in a way that implied it directly violated a law when asked about this law it was then stated as an unprovable 'directive' at the very least he initially represented his view in a very poor way.
Nah, the implication from many on here was that he hates the English and he lets that's bias influence him so much that he'll go out of his way to make things up so that he can rule out an England try against Italy.
It was so weird, though, as it all stopped when Owens came out and said that in his opinion 2 of our tries against England shouldn't of stood. Funny that.
Within 12 hours of the match the threads this year have usually descended into complete and utter drivel. I usually switch off after that.**** me guys, this place is getting as bad as Reddit for petty squabbling. Anyone want to actually discuss the game?
I for one was one of those and still feel that way but more of motives driven by staying relevant than a dislike for anyone, I also complimented him on his criticism of the Welsh try, bottom line is he said if you believe it's a jump it's no try, there is no law stating one can't jump, it falls under dangerous play, it was not dangerous so we move on, simples.Nah, the implication from many on here was that he hates the English and he lets that's bias influence him so much that he'll go out of his way to make things up so that he can rule out an England try against Italy.

Ok, for you he does it out of vanity not out of English hatred. I do apologise. I'll chalk that up as another character assassination of a Welshman for no other reason other than doing his job, like AWJ.I for one was one of those and still feel that way but more of motives driven by staying relevant than a dislike for anyone, I also complimented him on his criticism of the Welsh try, bottom line is he said if you believe it's a jump it's no try, there is no law stating one can't jump, it falls under dangerous play, it was not dangerous so we move on, simples.

C'mon guys, you both are actually sound... let's save that energy for people like @Brandon2k et alOk, for you he does it out of vanity not out of English hatred. I do apologise. Quite the conspiracy theorist aren't we. What shape do you think the planet is out of interest?

To get back to the match, some interesting figures to show the momentum of the match shifted around the 65/70th minuteWithin 12 hours of the match the threads this year have usually descended into complete and utter drivel. I usually switch off after that.
I find possession stats pointless in rugby. It where you play the game that matters...To get back to the match, some interesting figures to show the momentum of the match shifted around the 65/70th minute
Figures came back positive at the last moment
They say numbers don't lie. They therefore also retrace the twelve minutes of madness that rocked the meeting. For 70 minutes, Wayne Pivac's men dominated almost all statistical categories: more than 55% possession, more than 55% occupation of the field and much less tackles on the clock than the French (73 at halftime , against 115 to the Blues).
But, everything changed at the end of the game. France finished with 175 tackles (94% success) and the Welsh with 226 (84% success). Fabien Galthié's men regained possession (51%) and the occupation was shared (50%).
Above all, the Welsh penalties have piled up. Sanctioned four times in the first half, the Welsh were sanctioned ten times in the second, while the French went from a conceded penalty to six. Fabien Galthié also pointed it out to his captain when he arrived at a press conference. "There was forty minutes of actual playing time, and we were penalized six times."
Last point: meters made ball in hand. While the Red Devils had gained 211 meters in the first half, against 163 meters to the French, the end of the match also reversed the trend. The Blues finish with 462 meters gained, against only 297 meters to their visitors. One more consequence of the tricolor fury over the last twelve minutes.
Yup, the stats really tell the story of that match... isn't always the case. Congratulations for your guys bud, an amazing come from behind victory under incredible pressure...To get back to the match, some interesting figures to show the momentum of the match shifted around the 65/70th minute

Absolutely true, you have to look at possession + territory. The Welsh had both in the first hour of the match and that explains both their dominance and the score. The way both figures changes at the end means the Welsh just stopped playing while the French gave everything they had. Biggar was already substituted, Owens, Faletau, Tipuric and Navidi were were completely knackered at the 70th minute, while the French kept running. like Duracell rabbits.I find possession stats pointless in rugby. Yeah, I reckon a more experienced 10 plays those final 10-15 minutes out. Bringing Sheedy on when you'd usually expect France to be tiring made sense though.I think it was a mistake to take biggar off he had an immense game could of done with his defence in the latter stages
I have a feeling that the fact that we (Wales) were so active at the breakdown led to us somewhat 'gassing' at the end. I was surprised by the French fitness btw.Absolutely true, you have to look at possession + territory. Still very surprised by the extend of the Welsh domination at the breakdown until these last minutes. I hope Taofifenua and Le Roux willl be back to play Scotland.
I dunno like, judging from some comments from Matt Fagerson last week... that Scottish squad ****ing hate the Welsh like. Not saying they'll throw it but there may be a 'residue' in the Scottish team's subconscious. To be honest I'm not really bothered if we win the 6N or come 2nd now but you'd have to think it's a massive ask for France to beat Scotland by 21 points. You'd fancy Scotland to score a couple and they're not exactly going to want to roll over and let a France smash them. I can see France scoring 4 or more tries but Scotland really should keep the loss within 5-10 points. Having said that France are capable but I don't see it personally.
