[2021 Six Nations] France vs Wales (20/03/2021)

Fair play, I simply wanted the most deserving team throughout the duration of the tournament to win, that happened it the end in my opinion, take nothing away from either side that was easily the most entertaining game of the tournament probably for some time too, considering where the Welsh were on paper at the start of the tournament they have every reason to be positive.
Nobody's won yet France still have to destroy Scotland.

Well first of all let me apologise to any one If I over stepped the mark yesterday I'm not trawling through all the threads so again I apologies, I drank a bottle of 18 year old Malt
The game. Brilliant game I thought the change came when the french player ran out from behind the posts and beat half a dozen players also when I saw a player of Faletaus ability going to the bin I just held my head in my hands. Then an awful lot of subs at once didn't help started kicking long that was a mistake, but I cant really criticise any one fabulous game, but we'll be back.

Forgot all about it post-match but although the decision was ultimately correct... that LRZ almost-try would've gone down as the best finish I've ever seen if he'd just managed to place it a centimetre further into the try zone. The kid played well again yesterday, such a talent.

Even though I've woke up somewhat heartbroken, the overall performance of pretty much every player in a Red Shirt does lift my fallen-crest a little. Gonna find time to watch the whole thing back sometime this week... don't think I'm up to it today but once my hangover and my psychological torment has shifted a little.

Superior in your head yes. Not in the wider view of the world tho bud .

That's no way to address an English referee.

Haters gonna hate I guess
Not sure where your getting the hate status from under normal circumstances I back Wales any time their success is not detrimental to England's, however getting away with repeated **** whilst winning games whilst other teams are down men winds me up, then listening to pundits bang on about how they haven't been carded since 2018, if that was on merit I'd concede it's a hell of a feat, you yourself would have a tough time proving it is based on merit and not luck.
Do you honestly think in my head I believe in superiority, especially based on nationality?

Strange thread; stop being weird people.

Sympathies go out to Wales, it's a tough one to swallow. Obviously Wales should take a lot away from the performance - I always thought Pivac needed time especially after such a long and engrained Warrenball philosophy.

For what it's worth, I do think a grand slam this year would have flattered Wales a lot this time around. They could have, and that's what will hurt, but if you want to take something positive away from this then I think it should be that a GS would have maybe papered over some cracks; we're used to GS teams being fairly top notch and Wales aren't there (imo) riding your luck a little bit this tournament. I think seeing where things went slightly against you yesterday will aid improvement.

For me it's just so so good to see France back in business. Many of us grew up with French flair being a core part of what made the six Nations diverse and exciting. They've literally been AWOL for over a decade, arguably more, and I'm happy to see them playing this sort of rugby even if they're not there yet.

Can't wait to see lions selection, arguably the most interesting for many years. No dominant team.

Pretty much agree with you.
Italy and England aside we were within 1 score of losing the other games. There's really not much between the old 5 nations and that's a good thing.
No excuses from Pivac and co now though, we build and push on or it really would look like a flash in the pan

Think you'll be unpleasantly surprised by the total lack of Welsh whinging... maybe put some of the whinging from 'other' nations into perspective over the course of this 6 Nations.

Good point well made. I shall be reminding myself of this throughout the day and week.

Am not sure why there should be a need for sympathy for any team losing a game in the 6N. It's no different losing the 5th game as it is the first game it's the luck of the draw in the order one plays ones opponents. If Wales played France first and lost then went on to win the next 4 would there be any sympathy for noy having beaten france in the opener this denying the chance of a GS? The tournament is based on 5 fames each not 4.

Who's asking for sympathy?
